2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / givers/needers swap? on: May 18, 2017 08:37:18 PM
im interested in starting a givers/needers swap to declutter in a few days. would anyone be interested? also, would anyone be interested in being a coorganizer incase we get alot of interest? i saw interest in another post from a while ago but i couldnt find a post of the swap taking place so hopefully there will be plenty of people interested.

Givers will send a box of craft supplies to a needer so they can continue their love for crafting and will receive a thank-you made with love from their needer. The giver can choose the size and amount of supplies they send, just make sure to send enough to help the needer without breaking your budget. Send something you’d be happy to receive.

Needers will receive a box of supplies from a very generous giver.  In return, they will send a thank you gift that is the equivalent of a small. The thank you gift does not need to be crafted from the supplies the giver sends. The minimum is a small, feel free to spoil your giver!
This is a great way to de-stash and help a fellow crafter out who may for various reasons need some supply help.

i plan to begin sign ups starting monday may 22nd
EDIT i forgot about the long weekend this week, ill start sign ups next monday instead (the 29th) so anyone having fun over the may 24 weekend wont miss it.

angielou1 the givers send out any sized package they can, theres no set size. usually youd want to send enough to help replenish the needers stash a bit so they can continue crafting and the needer sends a minimum of a small item as a thankyou. the thankyou item doesnt need to be crafted from the stuff received in the swap though and if the needer wants to send a larger thankyou they can

sorry i had computer trouble the last couple days so im just setting up the swap stuff now. i will contact everyone who has shown interest as soon as its posted. i also wanted to ask if anyone would like to co-org. for me. that way i could allow more people to join instead of the max of 25 if i organize it alone.

What would you guys think of sign-ups starting Monday February 3rd? Sign-ups usually go pretty quickly for this swap....I could start sign-ups a bit later if everyone needs time to go through their stashes to see what they can give or what they need

I'm hoping to get a bit more interest, then I'll start sign-ups in a couple weeks. I'll make sure to message people who express interest so they know sign-ups have started
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / another givers needers swap? on: January 23, 2014 06:00:53 PM
I would like to organize another givers needers swap in a week or so and I was wondering if there would be interest in it? I'm not sure when the last one was but I was thinking it'd be good to tidy up our stashes since its a new year.
8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Re: Image Transfer to Clay question on: November 23, 2013 02:30:25 PM
i think you might be talking about the liquid clay that people use for image transfers alot http://www.cottagefever.com/transfertechnique.html tells you how to do it. just ask the stores for "liquid polymer clay" and they should have it, if not its very easy to order online

i tried to cover a wooden box with polymer clay once and it didnt stay on so well prebaking so i painted on a thin layer of liquid clay before putting the actual clay on and it made it stick to it well so it could be baked. it worked really well and didnt use too much of the liquid clay
