11  Thor and a Zombie! AH! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by RippledWater on: August 26, 2010 08:01:59 AM
Ok, So I haven't posted anything in a very very loooong time, and this is my first Poly-clay post, ever! Clay and I don't get along very well, but I decided that for father's day I was going to make my Dad and Step Dad figurines. So, first up my dad has an obsession with Thor (he's extremely excited about the new movie coming out in 2011. I get a count down text at least twice a week lol). I made him a mini Thor. He's not the best, but I don't think he's too bad for my first figurine ever. I usually just make round beads or random shapeless ness. lol.

And my Step Dad owns a comic book company where he writes the stories for the artists and they all go together in an anthology. It's actually pretty bad  A@#.  He developed a character named Bloke (it's modeled after him of course.. lol) who introduces the anthologies for what is called "Blokes Tomb of Horror." He has a million web sites but you can check out some things on this one http://viruscomix.ning.com/ Anywho, I'm not here to advertise. On to my Zombie!!

I couldn't get the legs or mouth quite right on any of them, but I guess that comes with time and experience. I decided that even though they look like a 5 year old did them they aren't too shabby considering I have about the clay sculpting skills of a 5 year old. hahahaha. Thanks for looking. C&C are always welcome.

12  Re: Gypsy Swap Round 2 Gallery Sendouts 7/31 in The Swap Gallery by RippledWater on: August 05, 2010 04:34:16 PM
Hello all!!!
I received from GypsySoul_ a few days ago! Prepare yourself for amazing knitty goodness!!!!

Somehow I managed to not get a group shot of everything in all my excitement. Sorry Sad

First up is an awesome hair fall! The colors are PERFECT!
back, you can see the way cute flower she knitted to top it off

front, it's so long I LOVE IT! My hair used to be this long until a few months ago when i cut it, Now I have something to make me remember it a little(and miss it)! (excuse my faces in the photos. I had to wait from someone to come home and shoot the shots and by time that happened I had gotten off work myself, worked in the garden, and it was hot as it can only get in the south... SHEW! My face isn't sun burnt that's from being hot. lol)

EPIC SHAWL! "Because no gypsy is complete without one." she says... and she is sooo right. I had to fight my mom to keep her hands off of it. I'll be keeping this under lock and key and with me at all times to avoid her thieving mind.

Wristwarmers/fingerless gloves!! I had a pair on my wist and she made me my own pair... I like these ssooooo much better! They will be getting warn everywhere!!!!
 Artsy pose with them...  Grin

better shot

and finally some extras!!
some amazing gypsy tastic trim... that I have already come up with a thousand and one ideas for what to use it for

and a pendant!! I love the circle she used to much. the words are really beautiful! and the green wire happens to be amazing!

Everything was just PERFECT!! The color scheme was AMAZING! I can't believe she knitted me so much goodness. THANK YOU SO MUCH GYPSYSOUL_!!!!!!! I can't wait for you to get yours! It should be arriving by tomorrow unless the post lied to me... Tongue

"Sometimes I am afraid that I don't have depression. But that I am just lazy."

Card 2:

"Even though I say that I'm against plastic surgery, I feel that I need it."

"There have been many times I have thought about it..."

"But I know what it feels like to be one of the ones left behind and don't want others to have to feel like that."

17  Re: One Tiny Sea Creature in The Swap Gallery by RippledWater on: July 02, 2010 03:12:00 PM
hey all! I received an AMAZING gift from StarfishSea yesterday. We spent the day getting to know each other and she helped me around the house this morning. I would like you all to meet, Ella the Whale!

Ella and I started the day by working my garden. It was so nice outside this morning. Although she had a little trouble when I asked her to hoe the garden.

We soon found out hard work is not for a delicate creature of the sea. I later found her skipping out on work and hiding among the squash!

By far I think her favorite place is in the pumpkin patch! (that's mine too!!)

Like most whales, she eats a lot!! She's already ate half my apple tree!!!

And she's making plans for the harvest from today! (*sigh* to be a mother of a whale!)

All in all, we had a great first day! And she's already adapting to life in Virginia!!

Ella and I were meant to be! You've rocked my swap socks off!

"This one night was the night my best friend ditched on me and went with someone else. We had the argument that ruined our friendship. It was a really lousy night. It took me almost a year to get over it."

"And even though we were both in the wrong, I made many attempts to fix things. When I run into him in public he still pretends to be nice. It's been three years now. Alot of things have happened to me since then and I'm surrounded by a huge group of caring friends. Even after all the shit he put me through, I still miss him. But I wouldn't take him back."

Here's the card I received today from Holistic Knitter. It's so beautiful. I'm sorry the picture is terrible. I might edit the post tomorrow and add a better picture in the sun light.
It came with gorgeous book marks (which I desperately needed. I read far too much and can never stick to just one book at a time) and some yummy recipes (which I will be trying out soon! Especially the lemon balm tea one!)

Thanks so much Holistic Knitter!!
