I've had success with the program (for writing Gallifreyan) - and then modified the design a bit

I was really happy with it. The above is my husband's name.

I apologize for the delay - things went a bit haywire. On to the pics!!

Two pets! one suspiciously looking like a Looking Glass cat!

A very very soft bathrobe.

A necklace, doll, composition book, music sheets and a music book! Very cool!

This is Mei in the jeans that were made for her, as well as the awesome hat. And check out the flamingo - croquet, anyone?

This is Nimue in the purple hoodie, with the awesome sketch book! Also sporting white shoes that were rattling in the bottom of the box

The only thing not shown is a very cute crocheted robin egg blue hair bow - and I think Nim has it.

This was a lovely package! Thank you so much!

amymisha - I'm glad you liked it all - I hope the apron isn't too loud for you. This was a fun swap to do. I just want to add a couple of shots of the grimoire inside

I only wish I could have done a whole complement of botanical illustrations for you - but that's really not my forte. Can't wait for your pkg to arrive!

24  Re: DDs dress and matching hair (added pictures of the different colors shes had) in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Myrdda on: July 15, 2012 10:07:05 AM
You make my heart super happy!Your daughter looks so happy with her hair! I'm so glad there's another mom out there who encourages this in her kid!!

We did the same with my dd in her grade seven year here - a short hair cut, that turned out to be too long with two tiny little stripes of color cost me almost $80.00!! So I took the clippers to her brainbox, and she's been crazy happy with her crazy hair. Not to hijack your thread, but a before and after of my girl.

after (when I redyed and made her color stripes bigger)

and her latest (although we've stopped bleaching her hair for the summer to give it a chance to bounce back)

25  Re: Dieselpunk swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by Myrdda on: July 12, 2012 09:41:52 PM
I'm not really sure what is up with my partner, as I know she had some stuff going on. I'm going to give Canada Post the benefit of the doubt and assume they managed to deliver my package to her. I'm posting pics, as I'm not sure if she can at the moment.

So, she told me she really wanted spats, so I made two pair, one from chines brocade, the other from black "leather" (it was a remnant, and i think it's too stretchy to be real, but close enough)

I spent an ungodly amount of time trying to make these goggles good enough, and ripped them totally apart three times before I could get them decent enough to send.

And, because she had it on her Pinterest, I sent along some homemade soap. I couldn't really stretch a point to tie in chocolate/vanilla cake soap to dieselpunk - but it really was a good batch.

it wasn't as epic a package as some of the jackets and stuff, but I do hope she liked it. The spats made me more than a little crazy.

27  Spinning Wheel in Spinning: Completed Projects by Myrdda on: June 01, 2012 06:55:30 PM
home made - dear gods, I love the internets. I've spun one very small skein, but need to finish my swap and my mom's bday presents before I start hardcore on spinning. This was a very cool project to do.

and you may not realize it, but you are not allowed to notice the messy downstairs crafting kitchen in the background

28  Gazeeeeeeeebo in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by Myrdda on: June 01, 2012 06:53:19 PM
So, as we live in a rental with no shade in the blazing hot back yard, we bought a standard gazebo. I looked at outdoor furniture, and my cheap little soul rebelled at shelling out so much for stuff the kids would climb all over. I got a friend from work to drive me in his truck, and we picked up pallets from the industrial area in town. I started to paint them white and got tired. So I just nailed them in an "L" shape, and good enough. I went to Fabricland when they were having a huge(ish) sale, and bought some grey outdoor fabric. I used old blankets to put in them, made some pillows, and it's awesome. The kids can be kids, no worries about keeping them off the furniture. In total, the furniture (and white sheers/curtains from Sears and Jysk) cost me less than $75.

29  Vanilla/Chocolate Soap in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Myrdda on: June 01, 2012 06:46:53 PM
So, inspired by Mandyhello's cappucino soap, I decided to bite the bullet - and I made a Vanilla/Chocolate soap. I'm so happy with the way it turned out. There's ground Double Dutch Chocolate Coffee on the top. It looks and smells like cake.

LOL scaly as a rhino ..... that's a great turn of phrase. I'm glad you like the roving. And speaking of roving - I received my pkg from dollface! I was sent some lovely handpainted roving (which my son wanted to wear as 'hair') and TWO skeins of handspun!! thank you so much, dollface!
