1  Re: how about a pet related botch? in Stitch And BOTCH by mirandasnyder on: January 17, 2005 08:38:48 PM
I have a ferret, named Kona, who loves to steal rubber and plastic things, for example, remote controls, buttons, sandals, hats, wallets, and occasionally money.  Well, my boyfriend had just bought me a new Bernina Activa; this machine was about $1,500 or so.  The first night I had it, I put it out on my sewing table, and was testing the various features.  When I got tired, I just went to bed without putting the cover on.  Well, the next morning, when I went to get back onto the machine, I had discovered teeth marks all over the corners of the machine, along with chewed buttons!  I was so pissed!  I saw Kona peek her head around the corner in the kitchen, and I yelled, "You little $#it!"  She just booked it right out of there, with a look on her face like "Holy crap! I'm busted!".  Fortunately, I easily fixed the cosmetic damage on the machine, and I got really lucky that she didn't do her usual damage.  I ALWAYS put my cover on now.  I still wonder though...was she trying to eat my machine?  Here she is, by the way.  You can totally tell that she is a spoiled little brat!!!

Well, I wouldn't exactly say that it is completed yet.  I'll get pics of the interior, but for now, it has a heavy solid flap that tucks in.  This was actually the first purse I have made in about ten years.  When I started, I had no patterns or anything; I just kinda "winged" it.  As for the sides of it, I added 2 horseshoe shaped pieces of fabric...I can't really explain it but I'll definitely get more pics.  This is definitely a prototype, so the next one will be perfect.  I ordered some magnetic clasps to close it, and I'm thinking of adding a sort of chain or rhinestone (cheesy?) strap or something....I'm not quite sure yet.

Actually, I just took some pics right now...sorry for the crappy quality of photos...

Hi Guys!

I really like this site, so I thought I would go ahead and attempt my first post.  I recently made a black clutch, when I was testing out my new Bernina that my boyfriend bought me for Christmas.  I've been sewing for over 16 years now, until my Kenmore machine died a little over a year ago.  Now that I have my Bernina though, I plan on creating a fashion line called Miranda Kouture.  Our fashion scene down here in San Diego is really off the wall, so I plan on making a line that is wild and edgey.  I'll post pieces of my line eventually, I just need to get a better digital camera; the one I use now is actually a Sony Digital Camcorder/Camera.  The camera part of it kinda sucks.  In the meantime, here's my clutch.

Actually, Here's a make up bag I made also.

I know that they are so simple, but I start small and add new things as I go.
