3501  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Re: Anyone else not get replies to their posts? on: August 05, 2005 03:52:10 PM
I'm sometimes scared of replying to comments, 'cause I know I post way too much here, and I have no idea what posts are totally unnessecary to reply to and what will seem a bit freaky like if I reply to every single post, so 50% of the posts are mine ('cause it'll show everyone that I sit here all day, just waiting for answers.. Wink )
3502  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Nightmare, the MLP-like horse of darkness on: August 05, 2005 03:45:11 PM
The cat is made by ilonavg, not by me, it's from a swap and posted for storyline

"The following preview is introduced by the Let Me Make Your Craft swap"
(Carina told me to keep what I didn't use, so now that I've been crafting for other people all summer and I've got a box filled with goodies for her already that I'm ready to send off, and can't really fit anything big there, I decided to do something for Melladh. I couldn't think of anything small to make with these two fabrics anyway, and I need a bit of no-time-pressure crafting)

So if they ever made an MLP called Nightmare it might look like this.
If they've already made one called Nightmare, then I suck don't I Cheesy
I have a huge load of MLP's from the 80's and beginning of the 90's, and this stuffy got a too round head, and reminded me of the teenager MLP's I saw in catalogues. I even had one I believe, but I'm not sure.

He has background story too. If you're not interested, just look at the piccies and comment on those Smiley 'Cause I did it all more or less totally freehand, and on the sowing-machine, and I'm not good with small details on the sowing machine... Anyway!

In the Alice in wonderland swap I got this cheshire cat from Ilona, who has no name.

He's the head demon of the house. He's the highest minion of darkness. He commands all the dustrats (my personal translation of a swedish word..), all the craftsupply-stealing elfs, the machinery bugs and the gnomes of confusion.
He has his primitive throne on my craft cabinet.

Nightmare though, does not answer to the call of the demon cat. He is a free spirit. A sort of demonic creature, but even though he thrives on misery he does not seek you out to harm you unless you have crossed him. He has no parents or siblings. He was not born, but dreamt of in a drugride death.

Usually you can't see that his hind leg is that bendy, and the freakishly bright mane and tail are just products of The Flash - they're really a sort of lime green, with blue "ends". And he does have ears, but those are also sort of hid/shrunken because of the flash

The demon cat is amused by Nightmare's strong resistance against becoming a minion of chaos and meaningless torment, and is constantly trying to win him over in various ways. But so far he has not succeeded, and Nightmare walks alone, following his own path. And what goes on in his mind, no one knows but him.

I didn't mean it like that Jadey Smiley I heard you were ill from someone else, when I got a bit stressed that I hadn't heard from you. I'm just a very stressful person (and paranoid to the verge of it being a disease), but that's MY problem, nothing that you have to worry about Cheesy So please don't mind me. I just meant that it'd be fun if you did post a pic, when you find the time, even if it takes a month more, 'cause usually if the sender posts pics the reciever won't, and it's oh so much fun to see the items photographed by someone else Wink

Um I don't know how to express myself about this really. Smiley I can just get a bit "hey, it's been five minutes since someone posted in that topic lately, why isn't anything happening!" partially 'cause I don't have much to do. And I kinda operate on the belief that everyone will take whatever I say with a smile Wink

You haven't disappointed me, don't think stuff like that Smiley

And ilona - I do sin more than virtue.. Wink

I'll stop blabbering now, cause I have to go, but I may be back later to once more point out that people shouldn't mind me being paranoid and overly caffeinated. Smiley
3504  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Let me make your craft 3 gallery on: August 05, 2005 05:14:19 AM
Do you want some more? I can buy them for you, sometimes they have some animal printed left overs, I like them a lot, ehehe.
It would be a reward for making me laugh and smile with your PM's for the last month Smiley

Aww, that's so sweet of you! But my boyfriend is a vegetarian, so I try to avoid getting leather products unless I have a specific goal in mind to begin with. But if I suddenly get this "must make" thing that has to do with leather, I'll keep this in mind! Grin

Bah, I see this topic has been updated, I see ilona has posted, I think "yay, pictures!" and get all excited, just to be let down *mutter* Wink

Anyway, just thought I'd post a pic of what I sent Jadey. It's a bad pic, so I was kinda hoping that Jadey would post a pic, and I still hope she will, even after posting my own Grin

They're glass coasters (10x10 cm) with rubber foam stencils which I cut out with my little knife... The librarian was more difficult than I'd expected, whatwith the foam being 1mm thick and all Wink

From left to right, top to bottom:
A'Tuin with the disc on his back (stencil from The Discworld Mapp) - yes the ocean is green
Granny Weatherwax (from a witches illustration by Paul Kidby)
Death (from Soul Music where he's riding the skeleton bike, also by Paul Kidby)
The Librarian, from a general illustration of said character by Paul Kidby

This topic was started in 2004 *points* and the photos are usually not all that static
3507  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: yarn dolls! on: August 05, 2005 03:32:45 AM
We make those out of straw here and use for christmas decorations. Only we don't have them cut at the head, we have a length of it and fold it at the head, tie string to mark the head off, then we stick the arms-bit in, and tie below that to mark the upper body off...
A piece of string is often tied at the "fold" in the head, so we can hang it up in the christmas tree or in the window or whatever Smiley

I like Smiley
The fairy should probably have a little more leg before her knee begins though
She reminds me of zzaga.deviantart.com

I think the people look really cool. I wouldn't call it "bad at drawing people", more that you have a specific style, and I like it Smiley Picture perfect isn't very often the right thing to do Wink Like this, it has character.
