1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Comic Magnets Return... on: October 19, 2003 02:58:57 PM
Ever have any old take out places magnets covering your frig??  Well here's what I did to some of mine in unique shapes.

Start out with an old magnet like this one... cut out a comic picture and cut around it with the magnet on top of the picture facing you so you know what will be on the magnet's front side.  Spray with adhesive glue.  Place cut out on correctly and there ya go!!

Here are a few more...

You can have tons of fun with these... next time at a take out place and you see a pile of these magnets with their number on it, grab a few and hold on to them and then when you have a bunch, go by some old comic books or story books found at a thrift store and have a ball.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Magazine Holder.... on: October 09, 2003 04:25:29 PM
I have been collecting Weird New Jersey Magazines, I had a few pieces of scrap wood laying around and I glued them together with E6000 glue.. which sticks GREAT!!  No prying this baby apart.  I decorated it with an issue of pictures and words.  It was alot of fun to make now one of my friends wants one.  I didnt put a top to it cause I didnt want to slide the magazines out and scuff the bottom of the pages up, I made it easy so I can lift them out.  What do ya think??

Right side of holder...

Back side.. not much there since it will be hidden from view.

Left side of holder...

Inside the holder on the back panel!!
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Beaded Bottle on: October 08, 2003 02:59:00 PM
Hey fellow crafters.  i use to make these in highschool for instant piece of art.  Take beads of all kinds of shapes and colors and string them, ie each end into a big knot.  hold the bead strands while putting the big knot inside the bottle, spread beads out around the rim and place the top back on and clamp it down.  Instant art for a lonely end table or bookcase.  Not bad for a half and hour fun.
Fun to do with kids.

4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Little bead boxes... on: October 08, 2003 02:37:57 PM

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / T-shirt Purses... on: October 04, 2003 06:39:46 PM
Here are a few purses I made out of junior size t-shirts I found in the clearance rack at Target this past month.  I cut the arms off and sewed around the sides except the top and looped the strip of fabric off the bottom of the shirt for a handle.  Very cute!!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Large Snack Tray on: October 04, 2003 06:09:25 PM
I found this large wodden tray at Ac Moore's this past weekend for $10 marked down from $29.  I grabbed some pink rose clored paint and painted the whole tray.  I took a calendar I had bought just for the pictures and glued them to the tray.  the pictures are from the Tainted Ladies Calendar sold at Borders... I love it!!  The little saying around them are hillarious.  I used the ones saying bad things about men on this one and the next one I want to do is one in blue for a man, talking about how men dont like what we cook.

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Wild Crayon Art.... on: October 04, 2003 06:02:39 PM
Grin  I had one of those 96 crayon packs laying arounf in my closet since I got them 3 years ago at Christmas.  So I had this huge piece of cardboard and thought of some instant art for my room when I finish my wild Batik Quilt.  I melted the crayons like you would wax in a pot over a pot of hot boiling water.  I had a paintbrush and painted the melted wax while it was still liquid.  I used like 30 different colors.  I'm happy at the results.  Its even got texture to it as it is dried wax.

Here is a picture of some of the Batik Quilts Blocks I have done so far...

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Marble Magnets and Tack Pins... on: September 20, 2003 11:31:30 AM

Here are a whole pack of half marbles from Walmart made into magnets and tack pins for a cork board.  I glued magnet canvas piece to the back and ther ya go a magnet.  Then for the tack pins... I glued a flat back tack pin to the back and let it dry over night and there ya go.. very cool tack pins for any cork board.  I made these all in the past week 374 worth, while watching tv at night.  Who said you couldnt be productive while sitting on the couch??!!
