Love it! I have four gourds drying outside (one sort of.. imploded but I have four left). I poked holes in the bottom of them with a cork borer.. you could probably get them in lab supply catalogs.

I'm definately going to give this a shot, they look GREAT !

I've already ordered some purple martin gourd seeds  for this upcoming season , can't WAIT!!  Cheesy

hi.. I know there are snb groups that meet in Stamford and Norwalk... I mostly wanted to reply because my jaw hit the floor when I saw your handle! My name is Irene and my middle name starts with an O... this used to be my login at work.

too funny.

I'm up in Litchfield County (New Milford) and I can only muddle thru with crocheting.. Smiley

aw.. poor kitty.

Get a cardboard box. All my cats love cardboard boxes.. but make sure you have a couple, they love to rip them apart too, in addition to hiding in them! Smiley
14  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help with Stepping Stone Instructions on: October 13, 2006 03:02:05 PM
Most of the designs I've done go on top after the cement has been poured. IF you're going to use the stone to actually step on, I'd put a layer of hardware cloth or an old screen in when half the cement has been poured, and then pour the rest on top.

Then place objects, write name, put handprint/pawprint just as you used to on the sidewalk (if you're a reformed juvenile delinquent like me! But that's all I did,, really...  Roll Eyes

To help the mold come out, I've sprayed Pam and used turtle wax on plastic molds. Both work, the turtle was worked better for me.

I've got a veg garden for the spring and summer, and I've got quite a few indoor plants. The bin's been up and going strong for two months now and those little worms are working OVERTIME Smiley

Between the bin and the heap, I think I'll be in good shape for next spring. AND my garbage load has gotten alot lighter! Now if only I could find a good use for used cat litter  Undecided Tongue

I had followed the directions  here (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=50901.0) from a craftster post, it's been working GREAT ... but I upgraded a little :

With winter coming I don't want to schlep out to the compost heap, this way it's nice and close to the house.

I'm happy with it, and the worms seem pretty content too..  Wink

19  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: Am I allowed to ask about my tomatoes?? on: September 02, 2006 04:35:17 PM
the little yellow ones look like yellow pear. They self propagate, so they may be left over from previous seasons.

Have you had alot of rain? One cause for cracked tomatos is too much water. I've had so much rain, all my 'maters are like that this year  Sad

but it's okay. I use them in cooking, or just cut off the icky bits for the salad. They still taste good.
