I'll be sewing by hand since my sewing machine quit and I'm looking at getting a new one.
Seriously, I got this hand held sewing machine for Christmas because my big machine crapped out on me and its a piece of junk, hardly sews a straight line and certainly wont go around tight curves. DON'T GET ONE! I'm hand sewing myself and although it looks a little... not perfect, it's doing ok. I've been using a very small backstitch to get it done.

I think my biggest problem is that I'm using a fabric that has no stretch at all. Oh well, its just a test for now, I'll have pictures soon, maybe.
Yeah. I think with sewing machines you really do get much a better machine for money so it's always best to buy the most expensive machine you can afford. The first machine I had was second hand and not good when it was first bought, an obscure make I had trouble finding replacement parts for, and I had no end of trouble with it. My sister's machine came from Argos for about 35 and we have a lot of trouble with that too, a similar priced one a friend bought was incredibly tempramental and at the end I was the only one who could coax it to work which was very inconvenient. When I bought my first machine I found 100 to buy a small Janome and it's not the best machine ever but it's such an incredibly imporvement on all the cheap machines that I always tell people they should spend as much as they can. I wish I'd spent more, got a bigger machine that could handle heavier work well, but what can you do?

Sorry for ranting, my friends tend to ask me about this for some reason I have have this entire spiel ready Smiley

I'm working on making a baby jumper for a friend who's due any day now with some baby yarn I inherited from my Grandma at the moment. Will post pictures when it's done Smiley I had a dream about knitting it last night which I think definetley means I've been working too hard.

They're cute. I've seen the made ones before but have had trouble getting hold of some but hadn't known how to make my own. Will definetley be trying to hand at it now. Looks so much nicer/cheaper/environmentally friendly then buying disposable pads.
