45  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Cross stitch heart on: February 10, 2011 10:01:22 AM
Soo cute!!!
and NO, NOT stupid to use clear nail polish to keep the edges from fraying, that's actually brilliant!! especially for a little small cross stitch! I've seen people bind the edges of larger cross stitches with ribbon or bias tape, which is cute but can be a little wonky.
Your Nanna is going to love it...happy b-day and congratulations to her!
Tell her not to whoop it up too much with the liquor drinks  Grin
46  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: Bake and Botch? (Or... my kitchen exploded last night) on: February 06, 2011 12:51:58 PM
Sorry, I just had to...I've been reading a lot of Cracked.com and Micheal Bay is a favorite subject of theirs...
I am glad you and your family are ok. I had the same thing happen to me (though it was my own stupidity, cold liquid in a hot dish..blammo!) hopefully anchor-hocking will do something.

48  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: My new old cabinet on: January 24, 2011 04:37:15 PM
I love it!!! I wish I had done this!! I was looking for a small hutch because we have a teeny-tiny dining room/kitchen in our apartment but I couldn't find anything that didn't suck.
I love the color and I love the knobs, they work perfectly with it.
49  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Dutch Pancakes! on: January 13, 2011 06:02:25 PM
ummmm.....ok....so I saw your post,
my husband and I just finished dinner and he asked me "do we have anything sweet?"
I say "no, but somebody put up a post about a dutch pancake, it looks delicious."
"what's a dutch pancake?"
"something that looks delicious that I have the ingredients for and I can make in 20 minutes."

pause from husband......."how much do you love me?"

me "enough to make you a dutch pancake."

I substituted vanilla for the lemon extract and served it with strawberry jam that I warmed up....
ohhh soooo gooood, thank you
