1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet bows on: January 31, 2013 02:18:32 AM
Hi all,
I've been making hundreds (well, maybe not that many, but lots) of these little crochet bows, and I thought that someone else might want to have a go too - that way it isn't just me filling every corner of the room with them  Smiley They were adapted from a french pattern I came across on Pinterest but I've changed it slightly to make it even easier (and cuter!) There's a photo tutorial on my blog but the pattern is ridiculously simple (UK terms):

Make a magic ring. *Chain 3, and make 2 trebles into the ring; chain 3 (from the top of the second treble) and slip-stitch into the ring. Repeat once from *.
**Chain 4, skip the chain closest to the hook, and make 1 double crochet in each chain back to the ring (3 dc); slip-stitch into the ring. Repeat once from **. Pull the ring tight, snip off and secure all ends, and you're done.

Repeat until you have too many bows to know what to do with! Hope you like them Smiley
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Christmas wreath on: December 03, 2012 09:33:24 AM
I made a wreath! It may be small, but it's so cute Smiley With a little help from Attic 24 and a little initiative, I think it worked out quite nicely! There's more pics on my blog but I think you get the gist of it here...and it's reusable  Wink
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Quilled Paper Art Mosaics on: October 28, 2012 10:25:48 AM
This is incredible! I've done some quilling myself but the scale of this is inspiring  Smiley Well done!
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crochet Earrings on: October 23, 2012 06:20:07 AM
These are so gorgeous, especially the first ones! I hadn't thought about making crocheted earrings, but they're so lovely, and they would be light...inspired!
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Re: Newbie with a joining problem :) on: October 19, 2012 09:02:23 AM
That was quick  Smiley thanks! You see all that makes sense now, it's amazing how confusing things can be when you just keep going over and over them! I'll get back to the pattern and try again...
6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Newbie with a joining problem :) on: October 19, 2012 07:55:20 AM
Hello! I'm new to amigurumi (well, pretty new to crochet in general!) and I've got myself stuck in a rut trying to work something out. Hoping someone can help!

Ok, my problem is in joining rounds - a) Is there a general rule as to whether you join with a slip-stitch and a chain or just keep spiralling around using markers to show each new round? I've seen patterns that say both Smiley But if a pattern doesn't mention it...which do I do?

b) If I join with a slipstitch and chain, do I work the first stitch of the round into the same stitch as the chain or the next one along? (This is really where I've got confused!)

c) I realised last night that the piece I'd been working on with the no-join spiral technique was turning into a hexagon instead of a circle! <Sigh> How did I manage this?!

Help, please... Roll Eyes
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Rainbow ripple baby blanket on: October 11, 2012 02:13:12 AM
It took me about a month but I wasn't working on it continuously - it could have been finished much more quickly  Smiley I actually miss it now!
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Rainbow ripple baby blanket on: October 05, 2012 03:38:24 AM
Thanks  Smiley It's for my newest nephew, he was born three weeks ago but we're going to visit him on Monday so I'll take it along then. Hope they like it!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Rainbow ripple baby blanket on: October 04, 2012 09:41:27 AM
I'm still pretty new to crochet but I've just finished my first baby blanket so I thought I'd share! It's pretty big for a baby blanket, big enough to snuggle up in for years hopefully Smiley I used the ripple pattern from Attic 24, with Stylecraft DK yarn in a random pattern of colours. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out, I love this new hobby! There are lots more pics on my blog (it's my first - I took lots!)

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Cat Beanie on: September 15, 2012 01:56:40 AM
Ha, love it! Your cat is much more patient than most moggies I've known...saying that, our new cat is definitely daft enough to give this a go! We've been talking about how I should make him some little crochet boots for the winter...Tried these with yours?  Smiley
