3  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Really Cool and Unique Designer Coat Patterns? on: May 23, 2005 02:42:22 AM
Hey, Now that its summer, I have time to make a coat for next winter.  Roll Eyes anyway, this is inspired by the great pattern someone posted about the yamamoto coat- the pictures look great, but the pattern is really confusing to me.  I was wondering if people who know where simalar sites with easier patterns are.  Could you list them? I really like the yamamoto pattern but I am worried that I would screw it up and never be able to decipher the pattern.  Thanks. Ryn Kiss Smiley

6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / CRAZY Chance Painting on: May 17, 2005 03:28:55 PM
I made this painting by taking twelve rocks, rolling a die to see what rock I would use, dividing my paper into six, rolling a die to see where the rock would go, and then rolling a die to see how I would applly the paint and what color I would use.  The idea is to take the artists choiice out of  a work of art as much as possible.  I dont know how clear that is, but it is based on John Cage's rock drawings. SOOOO, here it is Undecided
7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Surrealist Angel Assemblage on: May 17, 2005 03:06:59 PM
Hey- here is another thing I had to make for school made out of things I found dumpster diving around the art school - I began by sewing fake wooly fabric to paper amd then after an all nighter of sewing this damn thing together, added the angel that was given to me by my grandmother for my first communion. Anyway, its kinda kitschy, but here it is- what the hey... Roll Eyes

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Urban Red Riding Hood on: May 16, 2005 11:59:47 PM
This is one of the projects I have done for freshman foundations this year, I constructed it out of various garments I found in free boxes around campus.  The assignment was to create a shirt that represents some aspect of the creator.  I decided to combine scrap quilting with street art. Quilting and street art at first thought seem like polar opposites, but they both layer information whether it be the worn garments of grown children or the  scrawling of an anonymous artist weathering over years of being outdoors.  They both feel like remnance of life to me. anyway.  Undecided here are some pics, I hope you like them.... Huh Cheesy Undecided Lips sealed
