Took this a few weeks ago in my garden. I forget what kind of flower it is.

I've been playing with this too! I love it. Yours are really beautiful, especially the beach ones. Did you do any playing with saturation and stuff on the flower ones? I also just randomly started experimenting one afternoon when I had both cameras out, so I didn't use a light blocking contraption either. I actually used an old Yashica SLR and my little point and shoot digital camera. I sort of like seeing the focusing thingie (can't think what it's called) in the middle of the pictures. At least some of the time. I think I've got an old polaroid camera lying around somewhere, so I'll definitely have to try that as well.

This is my favorite shot from that afternoon, but there's also more on my blog. http://modaveloce.blogspot.com/2009/07/ttv.html

So last quarter I took a photography class (the second I've taken in college) and I really enjoyed it. I used a Minolta SRT 101, a Holga, and didn't use a camera for two of these, and processed the film and printed the photos in the darkroom at school.

There's more photos and some information about where these were taken or of what, and about the printing process for some of them on my blog http://modaveloce.blogspot.com/2009/06/photo-2.html

Wow, Mlsocci74, I love those flower pictures!

I was in a photography class last quarter. It was really cool because I haven't done really anything interesting with film, so it was great to learn how to shoot, process, and print. I guess I'll just post a few of my favorites, but you can see the rest here. The scan quality is TERRIBLE, all the subtle tones have been lost, so none of them really bleed off the edges like it looks like it.

I didn't post any of my final project pictures, which were on sustainability, because there's a bunch and they really need to be seen all together. But I took sustainability in a sort of crafting direction, talking about reusing materials in ways which were inspired a lot by various posts and projects on craftster.  So check out my blog (http://eravera.blogspot.com/) if you want to see those.

I'm taking Photo 2 this quarter and am excited to show my stuff from this quarter too, once I get some of it back.

I've got just a couple more. These were taken at our campsite on a day with a little more sunshine. I noticed the mushroom the first day we got there and one afternoon the light was perfect so I started snapping away. Once I was down on the ground I noticed the daisies and had to take pictures of them too.

Jesus, sorry there's so many, I actually have about a million more from that week. Should you want to look at any more (including some hilarious street signs) the whole album is here:

I recently went camping with my friend's family on the coast, near Westport, WA. It was cold and windy instead of hot and sunny like we were expecting but also really beautiful. These are a couple of the pictures I took at the beach. They were all taken while also flying a kite which was a bit of a challenge.

my friend flying a kite

my friend again, I laid down in the sand to take this picture and was focusing too much on taking the picture and almost got myself and my camera soaked by a big wave that snuck up on me

my kite! I love how you can follow the kite string but it bends away and you lose it

7  Re: Campaign slogan shirt + bonus political buttons! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Era Vera on: April 06, 2008 12:44:29 AM
I just got a new button maker (for free! and it's electric!) and made some new buttons.

(Just the one of Obama's face, the others I got at the LD caucus today.)
I have a picture of the new button maker, as well as mucho talking about the caucus on my blog. http://eravera.blogspot.com/2008/04/political-paraphernalia-and-process.html

YumJello01 received from me awhile ago and I guess I'll post pictures.

Stenciled fabric shopping bag,

Albi wallet,

some buttons,

and earrings.

There was also a bag of jelly beans with a dragon tears label, but I didn't get a picture of that (I had to buy the jelly beans on the way to the post office).

You know, I don't remember exactly where I got the stencil. I think I may have found something that I turned into that stencil on google images, but I'm not sure. You're welcome to use it if you'd like.
