1  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: Southwest / Pitt. Free Galleries? on: May 20, 2006 02:09:45 PM
Hey All,

I've been posting my projects on this site from SF, but I'm going to Pitt for the summer and wanted to get a hold on the artsy happenings around town before I go. Anyone have any ideas about free galleries, good websites or publications to consult, or just any resources for a new Pitt resident trying to get into the art culture there? Thanks so much!

So... randomnly.  I printed off that picture and went to Joann's to see if I could get the pattern (no luck, btw)

...hope I used the quote thing right. You couldn't find it? That's so weird! I just went there a few days ago to look up fabric lengths (cuz I lost my envelope) and they had it. All stores are different I guess, but here's the link to it online. http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/butterick/shop.cgi?s.item.B4512=x&TI=10002&page=1

good luck!

Thank you for all of the kind comments, everyone!

And Ambie, is that your dog in your avatar? She (he?) is the cutest thing ever! Also you can get the pattern at Joanns or online, it's still in print.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Sewing Summer Camp? on: January 09, 2006 05:24:42 PM
Does anyone know of any good sewing summer camps or intensive workshops or things like that that teach students of different levels how to sew? I googled it and have found some camps that are actually wilderness camps, so they teach you how to make camp stuff like fleece vests etc., but I was more looking for a clothes camp. Maybe I could just take classes...but I love summer camp haha.

Oh I just finished this dress the other day (here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=72221.0). Go for it! It wasn't too hard at all...

I've got too much on my plate as of late, but if I was going to do this, I would probably try to copy this shirt:http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=9390&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=280&iMainCat=8 in red. It's soo cute. Good luck you guys!

I looked up the pictures in your blog. This fabric is amazing and your skirt turned out very beautiful! Plus, the style of the skirt complements the weight of the fabric very well.

Thanks everyone! My boy blushed at some of the comments haha. He's such a cutie. I'm not any kind of sewing expert at all, but if any of you are going to try this pattern and have questions, just let me know and maybe I can help...
