1  Easter Chick Cake Pops in Easter by CraftyGirlRI on: March 31, 2010 08:54:19 PM
After discovering bakerella, I couldn't help but notice her famous cake/cupcake pops.  I was feeling daring, so I decided to make little chicks in the spirit of Easter.

I ruined a few of the pops, I think the chocolate was too thick.  i watched some youtube videos and read other blogs, and I found that some people add oil or shortening to the chocolate to thin it out a bit.  I'll probably do that next time.

Here's the work in progress:

Here are my finished little chicks:

One box of cake mix made almost 50 pops, but unfortunately I only bought one bag of chocolate melts which clearly wasn't enough.  Next time I think I'll need 2-3 bags.

Another picture for fun:

The finished product tasted super sweet! (not that I'm complaining  Cheesy)

2  irish car bomb cupcakes in Dessert by CraftyGirlRI on: March 17, 2010 09:32:39 PM
In going along with st. paddy's day and trying to be festive, I thought that I should make an "irish" dessert.  What makes these cupcakes "irish" is the fact that they have guiness, jameson, and baileys.  Not to worry, you won't get drunk off these bad boys, but you just might get a tummy ache if you overindulge because they're just so yummy!

The recipe is from smitten kitchen.  I decorated mine with some green sugar crystals for that little something extra, lol.

Anyway, I highly recommend this recipe.  All my coworkers loved these!!

3  My "Amy Tote" in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by CraftyGirlRI on: March 05, 2010 08:38:44 AM
I bought this pattern on Etsy, it's by JennaLou Designs.  I found that the pattern was really easy to work with and the pictures really helped.  While sewing this bag, I was also forced to sew my first ever zipper!

This one was kind of my practice one, but I can't wait to make another one next week for my friend's birthday.  Just need to find a perfect fabric...
