1781  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Book of Shadows Swap Round 2 on: June 08, 2012 06:58:17 PM
Wow! It's great to be away for a few days and find all this great stuff in the Gallery already. I came home to a wonderful package from Mellisaurus, and I was hoping to get some photos up tonight. But it needs better lighting, so I'll do it in the morning.

Great stuff so far. Some really wonderful pages, and I especially like the hand-carved stamps. Too bad the phials of oils didn't survive the trip, though. It must have been messy and intense - I've found that even if they travel intact, it's impossible to keep the perfume from leaching out of the bottle. I once mailed a bottle of essential oil blend to my mother and, although the bottle didn't leak, the postman still remarked on how good the package smelled!

Hope Witchhippie's package has arrived, as USPS claims. Sometimes those delivery reports are a bit premature!

Glad you liked it, Cackle! I do have a better (sort of) picture, but I'm on the road this week. I'll try to post it in a few days.

I've been actively avoiding the annual fundraising sale at the Textile Museum of Canada for years, and trying to ignore everything people tell me about the great stuff they buy there. The last thing I need is more fabric and trims! At least it's over for another year and I can stop hiding.

I'm finished and packed up, but as I'm leaving to visit my sister in Washington state tomorrow, I'm going to take the package in my luggage and mail it on the US side. I'll PM as usual when I've sent.

At least you weren't still wearing the magnifying visor - that would have lent a lovely "alien contact" vibe to the encounter. Wink

You've definitely brought out the "cute" in this little lady! When the zoo here was featuring naked mole rats a few years ago, they had little plush mole rats for sale in the gift shop. (I guess "plush" isn't quite the right word, as they were actually made of a skin-like PVC fabric.) I so wished I knew someone who was having a child right then, because they would have been such cute baby toys!

I've been really good about not hitting the "This Rocks!" button for every single felt badge here, but when I saw the gnome's dangling eyeball I finally just couldn't help myself. Wow. Just wow.

Sent! I've taken a bit of a risk and used only a bubblepack envelope. For once my matchbox has no fragile parts, and it's so densely packed with goodies that I think it's uncrushable as well.

Should be popping up in your mailbox in a week or so, Cackle. Wink

I haven't hit "This Rocks!" so fast in a long time! I especially like the speech bubble. Without it, one might wonder what the heck you're supposed to be, but it puts the whole look into context and you know exactly what it is.

And your date's undead pirate makeup is good too.

I bought some Speedy-Cut today. I usually use erasers, so I'm looking forward to see what this is like. Maybe I'll carve another stamp for one other swap I'm working on right now.

I know! Why is finding a suitable mailing box often harder than making the object itself?
