1  8-bit quilted Portal wallhanging in Quilting: Completed Projects by thingsivemade on: June 01, 2016 01:31:14 PM

My favourite games ever are the Portal games, so I wanted to make a little tribute!
I absolutely love working with 8-bit quilts, so I made this for my bedroom wall. My original regret was that I didn't have enough orange fabric to make the split colour binding on the main piece, but I think the blue/yellow works just as well Smiley

 Thanks for coming by!

2  Daft Punk Wall Hanging in Quilting: Completed Projects by thingsivemade on: October 06, 2015 04:13:14 AM

This is my Daft Punk wall covering/hanging thing that I made for our sitting room. I had a lot of fun making this, and I love looking at it whenever I walk past it  Smiley easily one of my favourite things that I've ever worked on! I can't remember the exact size, but it's about the same size as a lap quilt.

3  Ticker Tape quilt art (wall hanging thingy) in Quilting: Completed Projects by thingsivemade on: January 25, 2013 07:36:35 AM
I hope I have this in the right category!

My fianc and I bought our first house recently, and I've been having a great time trying to make it really feel like home. There's not much art stuff on the wall apart from some boring flower art, which neither of us liked very much. So I took the frame and made a mini ticker tape quilt (complete with batting) using scraps from recent projects. Now it's something I actually want to look at Cheesy

I will definitely be making more of these, it was extremely enjoyable Smiley
Sorry about the quality of the photo, it's super dark today!

4  Lots of quilts (IMG heavy!) in Quilting: Completed Projects by thingsivemade on: September 20, 2012 07:51:27 AM
I've been making a lot of quilts lately, but as I don't have very much space, I've been leaving a good few of them unfinished until I move house (and get my very own craft room, woo!) so please excuse the unfinished ones, I just wanted to show you Smiley

Half Moon Modern charm pack by Moda:

Irish chain quilt (one of the easiest quilts I've ever made!)

Chevron baby quilt (basically just using up scraps for this one)

String block quilt (paper pieced, so much ironing involved!)

My future mother in law loves the above string block quilt, so I decided to make her bag in the same style:

Spots & Stripes baby quilt (handquilted):

Hexagon quilt (made entirely from scraps, all completely sewn by hand, 667 hexagons!)

Sorry about the overload of photos, I didn't actually realise how many freakin' quilts I've made recently!

5  Rocket ship - quilted pillow in Quilting: Completed Projects by thingsivemade on: January 29, 2012 11:55:15 AM
I wasn't sure this belongs in the sewing board or here, so if someone could set me right, that'd be great!

My fianc is currently very much in love with the quilty stuff that I make, and very often will stealthily acquire most of what I make. He's pretty sick and spends a lot of time lying down, so I suppose it's no real wonder why  Wink

I got "Doodlestitching" by Aimee Ray recently, which has lots of lovely embroidery designs. I chose the rocket ship because of our love of Futurama, we've have been known to sing this song at each other: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KosPy6KH3-o&feature=related (it's from "Bender's Game" in case anyone wants to know)

I stuffed it with fabric scraps, as I've been trying desperately to reduce my mountain of scraps. (Which is not going well, as it has grown instead of shrunk!)

 All C&C welcome Smiley

6  "Panda In New York" messenger bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by thingsivemade on: December 26, 2011 07:29:17 AM
I started out with the intention of making a camera bag using a tutorial by fellow Craftster user lianatempera (this one to be specific http://creatinghappinessblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/padded-dslr-camera-bag-tutorial.html) but I got kinda lazy when I ran out of black velcro, so it's just a normal messenger bag.
I bought the kawaii fabric from eBay, I wish I had bought more!

Front pockets:

The first inner zipper pocket I've made that actually worked!

Artsy shot of the interior, showing an inner pocket, keyhook and zipper closure (ran out of normal zips, so I used an invisible one instead):

I'm really happy with how it turned out, although it still needs a strap as on Christmas eve, it caused my sewing machine to blow its fuse so it'll be a few days before I can truly finish it.

I hope you like it, any C&C is welcome!

As promised, here's the Domo-kun tshirt!

I was doing the Domo-kun dance, hence my stupid expression  Grin

I received from hayleyhandmade, woo!

First up, the beautiful card with a note from Hayley:

Next up, we have LOADS of gorgeous cards, for birthdays, congratulations and Christmas (very tempted to keep these for myself!). You can't see them, but there's actually more cards than shown, but I have a limited photographing area.

A box filled with teeny tiny bags that have a chocolate in them (I love teeny tiny things!)

Oooh some handmade tea tree snowball soap! I'm a sucker for lovely smelling soaps and this smells like something out of my favourite shop Lush Grin

Sorry about the shoddy picture-taking in this one but two gorgeous jewellery boxes!

A new notebook, I adore the hearts!

And for this next piece, Hayley tells me that her sewing machine wouldn't play nice so she asked if I could sew it instead. I have an addiction to both sewing and Domo-kun so I'm totally on board with this! It's going to be Domo-kun on a tshirt and yes, I will post pictures when I finish it!

Thank you so much Hayley, I love it all! You're extremely talented Smiley

Update: Whoops, almost forgot about the truffles! Nyom!

Yay, I received my package from mama24boyz and it's just made of WIN! And what better day than to get it on than on my birthday Smiley woo, cake on my profile and an awesome package!
*takes a deep breath* I'm giddy as hell right now so I have to calm down a little to show you the pictures Cheesy

First off is something that wasn't even on my questionnaire, but somehow mama24boyz just knew I'd love it...a Pac Man bracelet!

A Rammy from Castle Crashers cross stitch magnet!

A little Sackboy from Little Big Planet!

Aaaaand....my very own Katamari Forver ball! It even has magnets so it can pick things up! I haven't tried it out yet, but I still love it!

This swap has been so very awesome, I've loved it so much! Thank you mama24boyz, you're a very talented lady!

10  "Chomps & Vines" - Snakes & Ladders with a Mario twist in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by thingsivemade on: August 02, 2011 12:31:07 PM
I've been dying to show this ever since I made it, but it was for a Video Game Swap so I had to wait until my partner received. She got it and it was a big hit with her family so now I can show you guys!

Ok, so it's basically Snakes & Ladders (or Chutes & Ladders to my North American Craftsters) but done in Mario style. Instead of going up ladders, you go up vines and instead of going down snakes (or chutes), you get eaten by the Chain Chomps.
My partner has 5 kids and a husband so I made everyone a different coloured mushroom (the little pink one was for her first girl).

I might make another one, but honestly it took 3 weekends to do so that could take a while!
