1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / some of my scrapbook pages (image heavy!) on: November 02, 2004 02:47:41 PM
Here's some of my scrapbook pages.  I've been scrapbooking for about 5 years, but these are some of my most recent (and decent) pages.  These are from traveling, so I like to put cut outs from brochures, tickets, etc.  I use some of the pre-made stickers (like the "Mexico" sticker) but hopefully it's not too tacky! lol.  I really have trouble resisting them.  haha.

It looks like the message board automatically resizes the images, so if you want to see them full size, go to : http://www.carrievision.com/craftster/ --- the scrapbook images are sb1, sb2, etc.  I used to scan all my scrapbook pages and put them on this site:  http://www.carrievision.com/scrapbook/, but that got too cumbersome.  Plus I use a digital camera now, and print my favorites through dotphoto for my paper scrapbooks, so I make digital albums now instead.

I've been tempted to take some scrapbooking classes through the local scrapbook shop - but haven't yet.  I'm too afraid they teach the really cumbersome ideas (eyelets, gluing on millions of little leaves or punches, etc.) like on that scrapbook show on the DIY channel.  Smiley lol.
2  UNITED STATES / North Carolina / Lazy Daze Festival in Cary - August 28, 2004 on: August 05, 2004 07:13:10 PM
I found out there's this big arts/crafts festival in Cary at the end of this month.  At the very least, a chance to check out what other people are making.  I'm crossing my fingers that it won't be full of Kountry Kritters and "Home sweet home" cross stitches. Smiley

Here's the website
3  UNITED STATES / North Carolina / Raleigh/Durham finds on: February 08, 2004 12:32:07 PM
Here's a few of the non-standard (ie not Michaels or Joann's) places I've found in Raleigh so far -

Great Yarns http://www.great-yarns.com/
I went here to buy some yarn for a gift - seems like they have courses and everything!  It was really crowded the day I was there, but that could have just been bad luck.

Scrapbook Plaza http://www.scrapbookplaza.com/
Haven't been here yet, waiting until I have some money to burn.  Yay fancy paper!

Scrap Exchange in Durham (http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/reuse/Profiles/ScrapXchange.htm)
A not-for-profit agency that has all sorts of weird crafty stuff for repurposing - old wallpaper books, random bins of scrap fabric, old boxes, weird foam shapes, etc.

I'll keep posting more as I find them... I'm still seeking good thrift stores - the Salvation Armies and Goodwills here are not up to par!
4  UNITED STATES / North Carolina / City guides?? on: February 03, 2004 09:25:44 PM
I'm just curious how the locations for the City Guides are determined.  I live in North Carolina, so Virginia and Atlanta are kind of pushing it in the crafty travelling! Smiley
Can there be a city guide: Carolinas?
