3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Care Bears on: November 05, 2009 07:01:23 AM
Here are my little Care Bears.  My two year old loves the CareBears so that is what I made the girls for Halloween.  The 2 year old is Funshine Bear and the 9 month old is Baby Hugs.

I made the hoodies and pants from McCall's pattern M4644 with fleece and a lot of modifications since it was too big for both girls.  I then sort of appliqued their tummies with cut outs of fleece.  The whites of their ears are little appliqued fleece hearts.  I found little red heart buttons for their bottoms like every true Care Bear has.

The girls are so cuddly when they have their costumes on and they will be wearing the hoodies all winter long.

Thanks for looking, it's my first challenge so I'm very excited.  Everyone has great costumes in this challenge.
4  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Spider Cheese Ball on: October 31, 2009 08:51:38 PM
Here is a Spider Cheese Ball that I made for our Halloween with friends.  A few years ago a friend made one and my husband loved it, so he asked for another.

Just look for your favourite Cheese Ball recipe or find one on the web (I used one from Kraft and it was really easy and yummy).  Then roll in poppy seeds for the coating to make it black.  I used candy covered chocolate for the eyes.  I put ground flax seed underneath the spider to make it look like dirt.  Then serve with crackers.
