1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Happy Valentines Day! on: February 14, 2011 12:05:10 PM
Happy Valentines day my lovies!

I absolutely LOVE how they came out. The bow on them was a last thought before making them. I was hesitant at first but I'm so glad that I took them to the next level. They are made with polymer clay and are by far my favorite piece so far this year! I took the original picture and edited it in Photoshop to make this wonderful Valentines picture. You can see more pictures on my blog, I hope you all like it and enjoying your Valentines day!

What I love most about taking and looking at pictures is the "story" behind it and that fairy tale feeling that some really give off. I was trying to capture that in these pictures and I think I've done well. When I was taking them I was thinking of my own fairy tale that these pictures called upon. The story that emerge was a girl that had no love ones or lovers, but cookies all around her during Valentines day. In hopes to get that feeling of closeness and happiness she dress the cookies in bows. Surprisingly, the dressed up sweets looked so good and stunning it made her smile with merriment, making her forget all her troubles. Thus making it one of her favorite holidays where she can make friends with sweets and share them with others to make them smile... I know, clich as hell but I'm totally digging the story. I have to draw a picture to match it soon. I love stories like that, it just makes my day! I hope I gave some smiles to people with the story as well.

2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Sweets deco bag charm on: December 31, 2010 07:54:49 AM
Hey all...

I know its been awhile but I came back to my crafting and deco den after a burn out a few months ago. I'm happy to say that I'm back on track and getting better with each project!

This first one is my first break out pieces after I came out of my bad hiatus. Its a macaroon bag charm with a ribbon on the end. I added a line of pearls with an Eiffel tower charm at the end for added cuteness. The Macaroons are made of paper clay that I colored with acrylics and the "cream" inside is 100% silicone caulk. The bow I made from ribbon, tied and glue together with a glue gun. The toppings are from polymer clay and window paint for a further the realistic look. I was and still am really proud of this piece and all of my family and friends loved it as well.

Thanks for viewing I have more to share in the future!
3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Ravers cake on: August 02, 2010 09:55:57 AM

So I heard you like cake? Even better a ravers cake!

This is my rave cake that I made at the same time of my chocolate mousse cake. I had this idea for a while to make a glow in the dark rave cakes and pastries. This was my first time using the theme with my sweets and I like it so far. It was fun using the bright colors for the cakes but I want to practice more on decorating the top of the cake. It didnt come out quite like I want it. Despite that I still really like the cake and plan to make more rave inspired charms to match the cakes.

4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Chocolate Mousse Cake on: July 27, 2010 11:40:25 AM

Who wants chocolate mousse cake?!

This is probably my favorite cake I made so far. *U*

I tried a lot of different things while making this cake like the designs on the top, the dipping chocolate on the side, the mousse texture, and you cant see it but the cakes have crunchy back ends.

Im not sure what Ill do with these cakes but I might make more gourmet chocolate style charms to match the cakes.

5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / DS Donut Charm on: July 20, 2010 10:40:04 AM

I dont think I submitted these donuts before but I made them a few months ago. I wanted to test make some products so I can see how durable they are. Im pretty impressed with the results. My sister dropped them (by accident) and they held up just fine! I tugged and pulled on them and the eye pins didnt bend or anything. *dances around* I also been working on my photos and picture taking skills so I was really surprised how well the pictures came out. I changed some settings around and worked on the white balance, I really see the difference! If you check out my older pictures you will see how everything had a reddish hue to it. >_>

The charm itself was intended for phones but when I saw how good it looked on my DS I couldnt resist taking the pictures. I even kept the charm on it afterwards and played pokemon soulsilver. XD

7  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / What do you to when you want to start a new creation? on: May 21, 2010 02:59:15 PM
Hey guys!

I was wondering how some of you start new clay projects. Do you have the idea(s) all mapped out and you start like that? Do you know what you want to make and try to make it and practice? Or if you dont have any ideas do you play and mess around with the clay till something arises?

Just asking because last night I wanted to make so many things but when I started I was blocked. I made a few donuts but as far as decorating them, there was nothing! Even when I wanted to make other things no ideas came up at all.

A week before I was exploding with ideas! I couldnt wait to clean up my drawing table to get started. Then when Im finally there nothing comes up haha!
8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Coffee Bean cakes on: April 29, 2010 08:46:35 PM
Coffee cakes I made like a month ago. I decided to do something different and use shavings of clay on some of the cakes. Overall I really like how they came out!

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Cute bows on: April 26, 2010 10:00:54 AM
My latest favorite craft! I had the urge to get crafty so I cleaned up my table to start making cakes. Then I remembered that I just brought a glue gun to try making bows XD. So I got out my ribbons and started on them.

Im super happy how they came out! Some of the first ones were a bit off center but Im getting better. I only had one big sized ribbon to make the bigger bows. The rest of the ribbons were smaller thus smaller bows. Im so addicted to making bows now that I want to got get more bigger sized ribbons.

I plan on attaching the bows on a cell phone charm full of sweets! Cheesy

10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Help with my brand on: March 24, 2010 11:39:15 AM
Hi, I'm looking for opinions about my brand The Candy Sanctuary

I just cant think of a great image/style for my brand. Now, Ive notice something over the pass few months. I know there are a lot of other people doing the same kind of thing Im doing ( way before me). But when I look at their graphics and the overall brand, it all look similar to each other.

When I just started out the clay thing (over a year ago) and stuff there were a lot of people that was simply inspiring! I love looking at their products and things, but seeing at what Im doing Im really trying to set myself apart from the popular cute look they seem to have. Before I took such a notice of this I would think that two or three of these people were all the same person haha!

Even though this proved to be a problem I found it a really helpful way to define myself and my brand, but need help with it I want some feedback on what kinds of things that you may like to see or tell me what your sick of seeing or just anything that you think will help.

The look I want is cute, pink, cutting edge, cafe-ish, and sweets inspired (mostly anyway) but I dont to throw out whats already been done. Ive been thinking of maybe a rave inspired style or take the cute idea into something different IDK. Here are the people Im talking about. They all are great and I love the products they make as well but take notice the similar look.

Here are my favorite people. I love the different look of their works and I just want to combine the essences of their awesomeness and make it my own. XD

Now I just want your opinions. I know that my crafts have been favorable where I posted them and I want to see how far I can take this with my future shop. I feel totally awesome making my little cakes and its very stress reliving!

I have tons of idea of what I can do with my brand but I want to hear from you all first. Plus I didnt want this post to get too long.

Thanks for reading and provide feedback if you can!
