2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Once upon a time... (flower dress) on: November 08, 2012 10:29:33 AM

Once upon a time there was a girl that lived in Belgium. She loved to sew and had made many wonderful things before. But oh, she didn't dare sewing with stretch fabrics. Oh dear no, that would be way out of line. What if she broke a needle? Or what if she would ruin the fabric? It was unthinkable. One day, however, a little helper came along. The helper convinced her to give it a try and so she did.

She measured and measured, drew out a pattern, cut out the fabric and sewed, all night long. It seemed as if her life was depending on it. Finally, the fall flower dress was finished. She put it on and immediately felt like a princess. A fall princess, you could say. She thanked her little helper and wandered off into the distance. She had never been happier.

And the dress and the girl lived happily ever after.

The end.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Flowery A-line skirt on: October 29, 2012 04:53:15 AM
Hi guys! How's it going?

I've been really into sewing skirts lately, and this one really is the one that makes me feel like 'a proud mama'. So without further ado, I present to you my newest flower skirt (with zipper, yay for zippers!)

The fabric is gorgeous, let's take a closer look.

See? Told you.

And because you've been so patient, you deserve some bonus shots Smiley

Let me know what you think!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / the shirt/blouse skirt on: October 29, 2012 04:49:52 AM
Another refashion I did, was making this blouse into something a little more bearable. Chopping of the bottom part of the blouse and adding a waistband with some elastic et voil, a new skirt is born!

What do you think?

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / One sweater equals a pair of mittens and a cowl! on: October 29, 2012 04:47:12 AM
Hi guys!

So, in September I participated in a project that was all about refashioning. I picked up this 1 grey sweater at my local thrift shop and decided to do something fun with it!

I created a pair of mittens & a cowl.

And I still have a bunch of leftover sweater. Any ideas on how to use it?

C & c appreciated, let me know what you think Smiley
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Fashion refashion! on: October 01, 2012 12:34:50 PM
From 17 to 30 September, Boomie organised a 14-Day-Refashion-Challenge. (You can read more about it here, unfortunately in Dutch.. >> http://boomieboomie.blogspot.be/search/label/recykleren) I decided to join in so here are my clothing projects Smiley

Before: an old blue dress I found in the thriftshop for a mere , and a white lace top that didn't fit me anymore.

After: a refashioned dress I can easily wear (at least in summer)

What did I do? I shortened the blue dress, and joined the top and bottom of the dress with some elastic. Done!

Another dress I had lying around, but it didn't have any straps so I was too scared to wear it  Tongue I also had some lace leftover.

After: a dress with straps! And yes, I do know it's pretty short, but I like it that way  Wink

Let me know what you think!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Mushroom skirt! on: July 03, 2012 04:00:56 AM
It had been a while since I had made something completely from scratch, but during the exams I couldn't control the urge any longer so I made this mushroom skirt! Yay!

Maybe I should have ironed it before taking 'outfit' pictures.. Oh well..The fabric still looks amazing in my opinion!

The skirt goes on and off with a zipper!

And the silly bonus jumping pictures you get for free ;-)

Please let me know what you think Smiley

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Reconstructed 'milkmaid' dress on: May 27, 2012 11:26:14 AM
So first of all I'll give you a little before picture:

I found this dress in my local thriftstore for only 1 (like pretty much all dresses and clothing I ever buy) I really liked the pattern on the front and back, although it kinda reminds me of costumes for folk dancing. (haha)
At the time I didn't really know what to do with it so I just left it hanging over my mannequin for quite some time.

Finally I remade it into this ... thing - well I'm not really sure wht to call it.

I simply chopped off the sleeves, made armholes (that are too big) (oh yeah, that's my bra sticking out) and shortened it. Not really sure what to think of it.

So what do you think, is it wearable enough or do I look like a milkmaid/greek folk dancer?
