I got a medium (or is it a large? whatever) done last nite, so now to THINK up another interesting idea.LOL!  easier said than done!  Wish I could've gone to thrift store today.  Bah!  I got the oil in car changed, but it needed it so bad, more than I needed thrift store.

Oh I would love to have this swap come up again as I was still on my first swap when the last round was held.  I'm a needer for sure, and I too can make nice thankyou's! Unless some one needs some plastic stencils and Christmas ideas books!

I've come up with a couple of ideas, but haven't done anything yet.  Had to do the Walmart-thing yesterday, and it takes me so long I always get so worn out.  I used to, well, not understand or feel sympathetic toward my mom when she used to complain but Yikes! I've become my mom! I mean, how hard is it to go to the store and buy groceries. right?  But it takes me SO long and I spend so much (well everything is so much more expensive and I try to get majority of month's stuff now)  I think I used to buy less and spend less when I worked, even stopping to pick up fast food on the way home---with $1 hamburgers you can eat for a week for $7!  not so when you have to cook everything!  So I guess that's my frugal tip for the week, go for the cheap fast food...$5 for 5 roast beef sandies can't be beat and they freeze well.  Now for families...there's no way I could afford to feed a family nowadays, I don't know HOW you young families do it!!!! Even a pan of hamburger helper is at least $1.50 and $3 for meat so 4.50  plus all your veggies and stuff...ridiculous!

Sometimes if you just let it be known that you are looking for fabric, yarn, whatever, people will give you stuff they have because they no longer sew or knit, and just want to get rid of it.  My SIL said,"Oh, I have a whole box ful of stuff I'll bring you".  Another friend gave me a huge tote full of fabric, and earlier had given me a tote full of crafting supplies that had belonged to her sister.  I brought that box in the house, looked thru it all and started to put the lid back on, then thought well why not paint that cute wreath for my door.  I had everything I needed, and it turned out to be a fun relaxing evening, and I haven't stopped crafting since!  Now I'm a crafting-fool! Ha!  Yard sales and thrift stores are great sources for building a stash, and I put an ad on Craigs list and a lady mailed a box of fabric pieces to me.  People are good and lots are willing to help.  You sometimes just need to state that you are wanting stuff.  Believe me, God will bless you.

Speaking of patterns....I want to find a pattern of a sewn chicken that is a doorstop, and actually "looks" like a chicken.  I had one oh about 35 years ago, and made calico  chickens for everyone in the family that year for christmas, and they all loved them!  I have seen a similar one that is out of print Simplicity5737, and I have a smaller one about half the size of a chicken and a chick size.  Does anyone have this?  PM me.  I am coming along with my Favorite Color package, however I am sort of tired of thinking of green.  I even tried to make a velvet frog for my grand dau last nite, but it looks like roadkill.  Oh well I will get back on track, and be ready to send kinda-sorta soon.
