21  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / zombie soap and tinkerbell on: September 30, 2009 10:39:48 PM
First time making soap, everyone on here makes it look so easy. So I went to Joannes, picked up a brick of glycerine, dye, tinkerbell stickers, and a mold. In all it cost about $20. Then I headed over to the Dollar Tree and found these neat skull molds for ice cubes, a spray bottle & rubbing alcohol. And came out with these. To make the zombie soaps, first I put a drop of red coloring in the mold, then poured the green colored soap into the mold. It made an awesome swirl effect and each soap was a little different.

A lesson I learned!! Do not pour searing hot soap on top of already cooled soap. it will not layer, it will melt a crator into the cooled soap ='( boo.

22  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Crochet Sloth! link to picture on: September 28, 2009 04:31:38 PM
My husband adores Sloths. For his birthday I searched everywhere for a sloth stuffed animal or toy- nothing. So I decided to just make one. I used a F hook crochet needle, white felt, doll eyes, and Red Heart brown yarn. I honestly dont know how to read patterns so I just eyeballed the whole thing.. But I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. Although, while trying to make a sloth-like face, i kind of ended up with a hitler-esque mustache on accident.. bleh.
