I got claimed by Cinnamon Teal and she made me a hugely long and glorious scarf!  I'm wrapped up in it right now--it's like ginormous and snuggly and so many colors that I can wear it with a ton of outfits.  I actually had wisted one similar to it.  Thank you thank you!!!  It's so perfect!!!   And she spoiled me with some awesome Bon Appetit magazines so I can get my gourmet on (I'm trying to learn to cook and there are some incredible recipes in them!!)

Pics! (just 2 because my camera is perpetually low on battery lately  Huh)

You can't tell, but the scarf is folded to 1/4 of its length...it's super long!
And the lovely stripes

I got my INCREDIBLE package from PurpleLime yesterday--couldn't post pics til today, but I am sooo thrilled with the package :-D

She claimed me for a tea wallet, but when i opened my package I found not one, not two, but THREE perfectly cute tea wallets in my absolute favorite colors.  Plus, awesome handmade gift bags from magazine pages (which are so cool I would have been happy with just those!) and a Dr. Seuss card and envelope that she also made.  To top it all off, she included **5** different kinds of delicious teas and some gorgeous brocade fabrics for a quilt I'm making.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU PURPLE LIME!!!!!

On to the pics!

The whole package (I only showed 1 of the lovely bags)

The cute tea wallets!

This is my absolutely fabulous package from Lydia Harper.  She was such a grand swap partner, really lpicked out the perfect details from my list.  I am soooooo thrilled!

The whole package.  How adorable is the little cupcake?  And the little eighth note is a sheet music print with "We Wish You a Merry Christmas!!!

The lovely, lovely green upcycled hat:

And my woolly warm handwarmers helping me play the piano:

4  Super quick 3-button neckwarmer in Knitting: Completed Projects by swickered on: December 02, 2009 10:45:36 PM
I made this a few weeks ago while watching a movie.  The yarn is Lionbrand's Hometown USA in something yellowy, size 15 or 19ish needles...not sure which.  I found the large buttons in a 3 pack in walmart.  The pattern was made up as I went.  I increased and decreased along the lower edge to give it a bit more width.  The one change I would make is that I would have made it a bit shorter.  When I wear it certain ways, like as a cowl, it gets kind of drafty and then is more for show than function--and I ALWAYS need scarves for warmth this time of year.

On to the pics!

Front Buttoned

6  First post!!! Joyful noise baby T-shirt in Needlework: Completed Projects by swickered on: September 14, 2009 04:01:11 PM
Hi all!

I've been a lurker for years.  Long years.  I just never got around to registering until today.  Anywho, on to the project:

I made this for my friends' son.  His first birthday was last April, and I, of course, wanted to give him something one-of-a-kind.  He LOVES music (instruments, singing, banging on things until he's told they're not drums), so I came up with the "I make joyful noise" idea.

I used a "crayon" font (i think I googled that) for the lettering and then free-handed the notes and lines and such.  I used transfer paper (like for use with a tracing wheel) to imprint the design on the t-shirt and then just went at it with gusto.  I think it took an evening or so.

The wet spot and random marks on the shirt are tracing marks in the process of being removed.

C&C coveted ;-)
