Sorry, very picture heavy.

I received from Casey1201 the other day!!!! She sent such great stuff Smiley
Bacon strips for the dogs, a car magnet that says "My best friend chases squirrels", however I'm tempted to cross out squirrels and replacing it with lizards Smiley, a nice piece of fabric, cocktail kit which includes fun umbrellas what a great excuse to actually throw the party that I've been wanting to, a nice bracelet, and a fabulous tree of life pendant.

Also, a dish towel and fabric button letter

Yep, not it yet, a great apron. I would've never thought to put those fabrics together, but they look so great altogether

And...a mini art quilt. I'm originally from Chicago so I definantly cheer on the Bears and my husband is from Philly so he likes the Eagles and totally turned me into an Eagles fan. So most items we have are Eagles, it is awesome to finally have some orange and blue hanging up.
And here it is hanging next to Eagles.

This is what I sent her
A California pillow with the heart in San Diego inspired from her wists.

Along with a ruffle skirt with a matching ruffled purse with a fabric flower clip. (unfortunantly this is the best picture I have)

Tawd looks like he's having tons of fun!

Pamela came to Chicago with me over the weekend. Here are just a couple pictures.

She enjoyed the plane trip (much better than being stuck in a box on her way here).

That's right Pamela...safety first!

On the 4th of July we went to see the parade. This is the high school I used to go to many years ago.

Once it got dark we had fun catching lightening bugs. We don't have them in AZ.

Time to put on the glow earrings!

We were welcomed back home to Phoenix by a giant dust storm (haboob). We were lucky that our plane landed early because the airport was shut down right after we landed. Here it is as we're ready to drive into it.

And here it is as we are stuck in it. The picture only looks blurry because of all the dirt blowing around. We were lucky to be able to see the cars right next to us. Usually you can't see within 2 feet of the vehicle.

Now that we're back, we need to start thinking of some fun things around here to do. It's a bit tough in the middle of an AZ summer, but we'll find plenty I'm sure.

Pamela the Platypus arrived today!!! Yippy Smiley

Here's one of my dogs Hunter welcoming her with open tongues (Don't worry she only got one kiss in) and I don't know what's up with her eye in this picture. I guess she was really excited to have a new friend.

And here's the something blue. Definantly the abundance of blue skies. She was in for quite a shock with the 110 degrees, so I made sure to take off her blanky right away. She will need it at night though for when she gets cold from the a/c.

Off to the girl scout meeting!

Wahoo! I received today from Dragonflower Smiley What a great package. Thank you!

Here's everything together. (tons of stuff!)

Here's all the extras:

Reusable tree bag (I almost bought you one too, but forgot to grab it before going to the checkout), 3 notebooks, my favorite is the white one, I think I might use it to keep my crafty ideas in, it's so inspiring. A bracelet (which I just noticed didn't come out well in the picture, some leaf stickers, and the coolest thing is the leaf plate. I feel like I should eat something pretty off of it.

Notecards! They're so pretty. I wish I could sketch like that. My sketching/drawing skills are horrendous.

A very cool tree branch necklace made with wire.

A nice little tote bag

And my absolute favorite from the package...a lovely tree painting! I always love those paintings that continue onto 3 canvases, and now I have my very own!!!!

Thank you so much Dragonflower!!! I love everything.

AS AN ORGANIZER NOTE: We are just waiting for the last couple people to confirm they received and post pictures. I'm giving feedback once the pictures are posted so we can all see it, I can't wait to see the last few packages!!!

Here's Tawd ready for his second trip. He's really excited! I hope and hope and hope that the visiting LV can get here quickly to go on a weekend trip to Chicago (my hometown) with me, but it's less than 2 weeks after sendouts that I leave; I'll be crossing my fingers though.

I received from Casey1201 yesterday!!! Such a great package.

Everything all wrapped and still in the box. I did get a bit too excited I opened one thing right away, so I threw that fabric over the box to show it Smiley

All the fabric that everything was wrapped in. My dog Scout was so interested in the box that she didn't even care I put a piece around her neck.

The tshirt scarf/necklace reflects her style. I totally love it, I didn't take a picture with me wearing it because I was wearing a black shirt and it wouldn't come out really well, so I made my husband hold it for the pic Smiley

Favorite non craft hobby: Gardening, lettuce, squash, sunflowers, and gloves which I totally needed a new pair. (I've never grown anything but I'm way excited about the lettuce)
Kitchen Essential: Baking cups
Favorite Scents: Coffee and baked goods. 2 candles, the coffee one is not scented but is awesome with the coffee beans in it and a candle of banana nut bread. I'm shocked neither one melted at all with the AZ heat!
Something she collects: coffee mugs!
And an extra of "Save the puppies" buttons, she's a big advocate against puppy mills and for adopting dogs from shelters.

Something local: Pueblo zoo magnet (I collect magnets and she didn't know that Smiley)
Related to Favorite craft: 5 fat quarters, a pattern, and scissors. I've been intimidated to sew clothes, so this should be cool to try.
Summer essential: Fun nail polish
Something drinkable: Tea
Something edible: sushi earrings, ok, she doesn't eat the earrings, but you see where that was going Smiley She made them out of poly clay
Always in her purse: Chapstick. Definantly can use that in dryness out here. She also likes to keep a small notebook in her purse.

And a close up of the earrings

Thanks Casey!!! Can't wait to see package 2 Smiley

I received from sophieangele!!!! A DIY embroidery kit.

Such a fantastic kit with everything needed, including threads, needles, scissors, directions with so many stiches and even ones she drew out, fabric, fabric with the design on it, and also the frame.

Everything is so great. I can't wait to learn how to do it.

I thought I would post this here since it's pretty much appropriate. Last night I finished my tree quilt that I started a while back. It feels like such a huge accomplishment!

Here's the link for more closeups

29  Four Seasons Tree Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by lacey0828 on: May 24, 2011 05:46:19 PM
Over a year ago I had the idea to do this quilt and it took me a good 6 months before I even started on it. I worked on it on and off and it's finally done!!! It was so great to finally craft for myself, and what an amazing feeling to see it for real rather than in my head. This is my first actual quilt, I've done two others that I called quilts, but technically were not quilted, so I guess they would be considered just blankets  Cheesy.

I would love to know what everyone thinks about it.

I received this weekend from Dizzerspinninaround. A beginner's plush kit. I can sew, but tried a few times to do plushies and none have ever turned out, so I'm excited to give it a try again.

Included is a pattern for a bunny, instruction book, and an adorable bunny example.

She also PM'd me a bunch of links to several tutorials that I will need to try as well. I have 4 nieces and a nephew, might have Christmas gift ideas now if they all turn out Smiley
