a friend of a friend is having a baby so i jumped on the chance to knit baby's first tattoo with skulls. i used some super soft sock yarn that's machine washable and dryable.

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Pizazz from Jem & The Holograms on: October 29, 2006 07:28:56 PM
So this year for Halloween I was Pizazz from the Misfits from the cartoon Jem & The Holograms.

Here is the original outfit:

And here is my costume. The wig sucked, but it was the only long green one I could find last minute:

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Red & White Kitchen on: August 05, 2006 04:59:46 PM
I made the curtains and the table cloth myself.  I stencilled the mircowave stand over a year ago..but it never had a nice matching kitchen before.

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pirate Toolbox on: August 05, 2006 04:55:35 PM
So I needed a toolbox for my ever growing collection of tools. I picked up one of those standard red metal ones, but I found it looked incredibly boring. A few coats of tremclad paint later and I have a nifty looking pirate toolbox:

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Lobster Dress on: June 26, 2006 05:36:57 PM
I used New Look 6557 and modified it a bit.  I also sewed a matching red petticoat...which I'm wearing in the pictures.  The dress can most certainly be worn without the petticoat, the skirt is just significantly less pouffy.  I didn't use a pattern for the petticoat...I just kind of winged it.  I wore this outfit to a jazz concert and it got tons of compliments.  Grin

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / matching scarf & mitten set on: March 10, 2006 04:55:18 PM
The scarf is a tube scarf, quite similar to the Harry Potter pattern (only not in Hogwarts colors...).  It's pretty long:

So then I decided that I needed matching mittens.  I made them double-knit so that they would be reversible.  This way they can either match the scarf or just be plain black.  And of course I put them on an idiot string so I wouldn't lose them:

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Black Dress with Eyelets, Zippers, and D-Rings - Simplicity 4470 on: March 10, 2006 04:49:05 PM
I sewed this dress way back last summer.  I've lost quite a bit of weight since then and even though I took the dress in, it still didn't look quite right.  So I gave it to my friend who loves it.  I'm glad it has a good home now instead of hanging in the back of my closet.  Here is a picture of her wearing it:

The pattern used was Simplicity 4470 if anyone is interested.
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / TV stand on: November 27, 2004 04:06:08 PM
I painted my tv stand a light purple, stenciled black stars, put up black curtains, and draped a black feater boa over it.  The picture is kind of dark:

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Darth Vader pillow on: November 27, 2004 04:03:49 PM
Found this material at my favourite fabric store.  So now I have a cozy Darth Vader pillow to cuddle with:
