1  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: baby's first tattoo - with skulls on: February 11, 2007 06:30:23 PM
I haven't started the front panels yet. You're right, the instructions are confusing, but by looking at the diagram and the sweater photo, I'm interpreting it as follows:

If you're working on the left panel, for instance, on the RS, you'd actually have to do seed stitch first, and then knit to the end for stockinette. And then on the WS, you have to purl to the last four stitches for stockinette, and then do seed stitch on those. Something like that. As long as all the seed stitch is on the same side, opposite from the side that will have the raglan shaping.

People who've finished, is that right?

that's exactly what i did. and to answer your original questions, i stitched the design on the front panels after i was done.  and i used some superwash sock yarn, i no longer have the tag so i don't know the brand name - sorry i'm not more of a help in that regard.

a friend of a friend is having a baby so i jumped on the chance to knit baby's first tattoo with skulls. i used some super soft sock yarn that's machine washable and dryable.

haha, that was totally the hardest part of the costume to sew...
5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Pizazz from Jem & The Holograms on: October 29, 2006 07:28:56 PM
So this year for Halloween I was Pizazz from the Misfits from the cartoon Jem & The Holograms.

Here is the original outfit:

And here is my costume. The wig sucked, but it was the only long green one I could find last minute:

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Red & White Kitchen on: August 05, 2006 04:59:46 PM
I made the curtains and the table cloth myself.  I stencilled the mircowave stand over a year ago..but it never had a nice matching kitchen before.

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pirate Toolbox on: August 05, 2006 04:55:35 PM
So I needed a toolbox for my ever growing collection of tools. I picked up one of those standard red metal ones, but I found it looked incredibly boring. A few coats of tremclad paint later and I have a nifty looking pirate toolbox:
