22  Blue Ringed Octopus in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by How Lovely on: March 15, 2011 09:48:15 PM

I made this guy for the one tiny stuffie Rd3 swap, he's accidently a little too big Sad He is a Blue Ringed Octopus, native to Australia and very deadly Smiley I've never actually seen one but apparently we have them near where I live, they live under ledges and in crevices in rock pools, the adults are about the size of a golfball, when they get angry their whole body becomes covered in vivid blue rings.

And one for scale Smiley

HopeEvey received my stuffie but she accidently posted in the wrong thread Smiley Hehe, I've posted in completely the wrong board before! So I thought I'd share a couple of pics I had Smiley

This guy is a blue ringed octopus, one of Australia's many many deadly creatures Smiley
Here is one with i-phone scale

As you can see I clearly stuffed up the tiny part, in my head making sure each individual piece was less than 5" meant the whole would be less than 5"... clearly I did not pass addition in primary school! HopeEvey said she could still love him any way Smiley Even funnier, he's way bigger than a real blue ringed octopus, the adults are about the size of a golfball! And yet still so deadly!

So if you visit Australia and see one of these guys... Don't touch, it'll kill you Smiley Ah so many lovely creatures we have Smiley

Isn't she cute!!! She just had a little rest and a little reshape after her long-haul flight Smiley All I can say is, thankgoodness she is a stuffie! If she'd been anything else arriving in that condition she wouldn't have survived!

Don't you think she's looking at you? Smiley

Showing off her cute tail:

Helping me post pictures Smiley

And the cute flower that traveled with her!

Thank you so much HopeEvey! I love her! Your crochet skills are amazing!!!
I hope your tiny stuffie arrives safe soon Smiley

Yay for international swapping Smiley I have now received all my book marks, firstly my one from RobinPich

Sorry they are sideways! I love the cute little house, it's like a dollshouse Smiley

The back of it

And the obligatory in use pic that shows the really cute little tassle!

I love love love dollshouses so I was so excited to get this bookmark, whilst it's in a class text now, in a few weeks when I start building my own dollshouse (Pop is currently cutting the pieces for me Smiley ) I think I will be moving it to a dolls house related book Smiley

And my super cute owl bookmark from Camelama! She designed the owls based on my favourite beads!!! I think she did a lot of sneaky crafty stalking hehe

A Happy Owl for a happy text book! I love the paper on the opposite side too!!!

Thank you so much Bambii8899, Pinkleo, RobinPich and Camelama for being such wonderful partners and Jennieingram for organising such a great swap!!!

27  Tiny stuffed elephants in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by How Lovely on: March 01, 2011 02:13:23 AM
I made these little guys for the OTStuffie swap Rd2 Smiley I was so happy with how they turned out! The pattern is basic as I made it up myself but it seemed to work Smiley
The purple one is made with a metallic dmc thread which I must say was torture to work with, it caught everytime it went through the felt! The blue one was a breeze though Smiley

They're about 2" high and 4" long, I forgot to take a scale shot!

28  re-upholsted kitchen chairs in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by How Lovely on: March 01, 2011 02:08:47 AM
I finally re-upholsted the chairs my bf's dad gave us for our cottage Smiley I was so excited because my bf helped me, it's so nice doing crafts with a handsome boy who's handy with a screw driver, saved me from doing all the hard work Smiley

A before pic of course, hainously wishy washy yellow with tonnes of stains (very old chairs!)

And now, with fabric that was on sale! Yay!

With the leftover fabric I'm going to make a coffee table table cloth Smiley I'd really like to paint them some day too...

I'm glad you like it Smiley I was worried they would break in the post! I have received from bambii8899 but I haven't received from the other lovely ladies in my group and now I feel bad because you won't get feedback tomorrow Sad I really thought today would be the day! But alas I checked the post after uni and it was empty, not even any bills! But I do have crafty goodness from bambii8899 to share Smiley Being in NZ it didn't take as long for our post to reach each other!

And action shot!

It's helping me get through my first uni book of the year Smiley Thank you Bambii!!! I love it Smiley

30  Cross stitch heart in Needlework: Completed Projects by How Lovely on: February 10, 2011 03:27:34 AM
This little guy is my first cross stitch, I know it's really really basic but it has taken two days of my life so I felt it deserved sharing Smiley It's a bookmark for my Great Nanna's 90th B'day as she reads ALOT Smiley  She is also getting a  cute little tea wallet Smiley Any way C & C more than welcome as this was my first and I have no idea if it is all correct but the pattern seemed pretty straight forward!

Also, this might be completely stupid, but I didn't want the edges to fray and I was way too exhausted to research how to stop that so I clear nail polished the edges... Stupid?
