1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / My pattern and mock-up on: September 05, 2009 06:59:22 PM
I'm a newbee and not yet allowed to post pictures, so you'll have to follow the links.  I made a pair of 10th century shoes at a two weekend workshop.  The technique for making them used my foot as the last.  If you have any kind of toe issues at all, I wouldn't recommend the technique.  The class was fun and I learned a lot.  Here's a link to the result http://norisstuff.com/?p=322.

I have made a pattern and a mockup and I'm pretty pleased with the result.  I made one adjustment after the mockup was complete (where the pin is) http://norisstuff.com/?p=358.  I'll try and post more as I work through the process.  I have the tools and leather I need but I still need barge cement and lasts that match my feet.  I'm working on plaster of paris lasts and will order barge cement shortly, if I haven't already (flakey memory).
