21  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Self Portrait Altered Puzzle on: April 10, 2011 11:42:04 AM
SO I decided to take the altered puzzle idea and turn it into a self portrait of sorts since I can't paint or draw.  I found a 24 piece puzzle and sat down to think of 24 words that I thoughts best describe who I am.  I work on the list for a couple of weeks because I really wanted to be honest about all the good and bad things that make up who I am.  Once I came up with my list I prepared my puzzle pieces and threw them all into a bag.  One by one I randomly pick a piece for each of the words and tried to express the chosen word through little pieces of art.  I did not assemble any of the puzzle until I was done...here is the final product.

Thanks for looking
22  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / New Kind of Rolled Paper Bowl on: January 19, 2011 06:12:39 PM
I made this for a swap and thought I would share it here as well.  I am a big fan of recycled paper crafts.  The bowl is made from one black Christmas card I received and 2 catalogs.   I am really proud of how it turned out...in fact I am having a hard time giving it away

23  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Felt Nativity Sets (picture heavy) on: December 01, 2010 02:19:10 PM
I made these nativity sets for my sisters' families as Christmas presents. I used a pattern from bugga bugs with some changes.

This was the first one I made

This is the second one

I changed the mary a lot the second time and I like how she turned out

My favorite is this wisemen.  You can't tell by the picture but the felt looks like an animal skin.

24  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Totally Fun Advent Calendar on: December 01, 2010 01:07:07 PM
I made this for a swap I am doing.  I love how it turned out and I thought I'd share.  The boxes are matchboxes with a magnet attached. (Sorry my camera is not great)

Every box has a quote and a piece of chocolate.

Thanks for looking.
25  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Oil Lamp on: July 09, 2010 05:46:07 PM
I am thinking about making some of these for a craft show and kind of wanted some opinions on whether it would be worth my time...what do you think? (they take me about 2.5 hours each)

26  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / My favorite Christmas Gift I Made on: January 01, 2010 07:15:51 AM
I made this for my sister who is a great owl lover.  It was a huge hit and I personally love it (not always the case when crafting for others)

27  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 43 ENTRIES / My Fabulous Retro Lamp Shade! on: October 05, 2009 02:57:23 PM

This is my first challenge entry and I am pretty pleased with the result.
I have been working for months and despite all the midnight run to Wegman's
for more straws, it turned out amazingly well.

PS. All images can be clicked for a bigger view!!!

FIRST STEP:  I started with some colored drinking straws

SECOND STEP:  I then twirled them around a pen taping the ends down

THIRD STEP:  I then hot glued them to the shade

I hope you enjoy my Fabulous Retro Lamp Shade!
