2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: I am not an artist. Help with easy art? on: September 26, 2009 09:45:16 PM
1)Stencil/trace an img. you like on to a canvas
2)take a ruler and drag out some of the lines you in the picture
3) start painting every time you hit a line change shade/tone/color
4)hang on wall
This is pretty much how one of my art teachers told us how to do simple cubism pieces.

Look into Islamic art, it's very geometric in nature. do some of your own geometric drawings and get some stamps (the kind used for borders) from your local paint/hardware store and do something with that.

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Tattoo flash sparrow bracelet on: September 26, 2009 09:02:20 PM
Bracelet I made for my art class a couple of years ago.

My teacher spent about a week telling me how it was, and that I wasted the metal, and that she'd never by anything like this despite the fact that I've seen things like it selling for $20+ online. Then she gave me a A+ on it. She also stole things from me, like some fussed glass and then told people it was hers.
Over all I like the bracelet but I hated that class.
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Gogol Bordello Messenger Bag on: September 26, 2009 08:49:49 PM
I love this bag. I may have to stalk you, just to hug you and then steal the bag from you.
8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Lets See Pics of Tattoos You Designed! on: September 26, 2009 08:38:15 PM
My newest (I'm getting color on Wednesday):
four hours with only one break. super fun. Designed it myself: the rabbit/circle/swords is a logo from my fav. band Gogol Bordello as are the words: "This is my life and freedom is my profession" for the song 'Undestructable'. The woman is Saint Sarah, the patron saint of the Romani (gypsy) people. Sparrows are going to be added in the next session in memory of my trip to China right before the beijing olympics.
My second tattoo (left thigh):
Top:Nostos Ou Topos meaning Nostalgia for Utopia or 'a return home to no place' in greek
Bottom:O Lungo Drom means 'the long road' in romany
My first (right thigh):
All of my tattoos where done at Homeward Bound Tattoo in Washington, Wis. by Adam
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Corset and tute! on: September 26, 2009 08:13:53 PM
thank you for the tute! I'm going to try this very soon, the only ones I can buy are way to expensive. Plus I have some fabric that would be perfect.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Sparkly Mario Eveningwear! on: September 26, 2009 08:08:36 PM
I have been drawing sketch upon sketch of clothing and jewelry trying to find a way to marry my love for cartoon characters, t-shirts, cosplay, and couture. I went to an open call that Urban Outfitters had a while ago to try and sell my designs, and they said that while my designs were 'unique', they were 'too quirky' and wouldn't fit well with their store. I started to think that maybe it would be too strange to combine cartoon characters and fashion.
It would never, ever ever be to strange. I love those things and would by that kind of stuff, as would most of the people I know, and most of the people they know.

P.S. my friend wants you to do a Final Fantasy line next.
