1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My first Tshirt recon on: July 23, 2010 09:45:11 AM
So here's the story. My husband works for a local cell phone company and a few months back they were featured in a local parade. My husband was going to take our two older boys with him to ride in the car and pass out candy. My 4 year old daughter was devestated because her brothers got shirts from Daddy's work and she did not. Turns out my oldest son decided to play in a basketball tournament that day so my little girl was going to be able to participate. But she had no shirt. So I took Daddy's shirt from last years parade and made it into a dress. I love how it came out.

C&C always welcome.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Need your advice on: October 13, 2009 12:26:54 PM
I am sewing a dress jumper and Jacket from a Daisy Kingdom pattern by Simplicity http://betsyvintage.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=123&products_id=5890&zenid=b38478c829646ff8d7ac1b04f545dcaf

The Jacket says to use double sided quilted material but i used corduroy for the jumper and I want it to match so I am using the cord for the Jacket. So now I am wondering if I should line it with something and if so what should I use. I figure i could just use the pattern to cut and sew the lining and then just sew it into the Jacket I am just not sure what to use.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Talk to me about Rotary cutters on: October 13, 2009 08:02:34 AM
So I keep seeing all these rotary cutters and I am thinking they might make it easier to cut out patterns. So what do you use? Rotary cutter or scissors? Are these rotary cutter thing just for quilters? Thanx for your help.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Newbie with my first project post on: October 05, 2009 12:05:42 PM
I finally got a sewing machine for my birthday last week and here is my first project on said machine (It's a Bernina 56 by the way).

I guess I'll add pics later I have to post 10 times before I can add pics LOL. Oh well I did upload them to my crafster album so you can see them.

This is the Anna Dress by Fabernmix (sp?) it took be about 5 hours to make the whole thing but I really don't have any sewing experience besides home ec in Junior high and that was oh my 15 or so years ago LOL.
