3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fairy Godmother Swap on: December 03, 2009 02:45:20 PM
I'm pretty sure my package came today (@ about 730 am!!!!) but I wasn't awake to hear it. I then proceeded to go outside to go to the post office to pick it up and walked into the post office with a few snow flakes falling. They said that I couldn't pick it up until tomorrow. I walked out to snow being dumped and had to crawl up my front steps and into the house. I am now exhausted from my little trek and looking at all these beautiful swap items makes me want mine even more!

Haha I really can't wait until tomorrow...sigh

5  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / BEST IDEA EVER!!! (member interest groups) on: December 01, 2009 12:13:51 PM
I just had the best idea ever. I think that on craftster we should have groups we can join.

You see the paper crafting gang and the inchies crew all know each other but wouldn't it be awesome if we could some way start making groups to join. It would probably make things tons easier for getting group projects and personal swaps together and things like that! Maybe each group can get approved and we can have an official board for them! And for crafters challenges we could do little gang/mafia wars. IMHO I think this could work out great!

6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: rant...people who want me to give them fabric on: December 01, 2009 11:48:54 AM
I'm ok when my family does it because we trade fabric and food and stuff (hehe for a college kid a yard of cheap fleece for a sunday dinner is AMAZING).

But I do hate when people come and see my stash or make the sneaky comments to no end. You could always do what my best friend did when some girl commented about how much she loved his shoes, say "I do too, that's why I bought them" Its a little more snide then what other posts have said here but some people out there need that bite to stop.

Have you thought about getting a box to put your scraps in? You could even go on ebay and buying a bunch of cheapo fabric and putting some in there. Then you can hand then a brown paper lunch bag and inform them the cost to fill it with fabric. Bigger bags cost more money. That way you can clear out the scraps you don't want and get some money back too! Just make sure to hide the ones you do want though!

Or you can really get them and say that every year you take the fabric you don't need and donate it to a quilt making group for the poor and all the fabric you keep is really what you want. If they keep pushing just say "WOW you don't want those homeless to keep warm? I thought I knew you better"

HA I just noticed how much of a brat I am!

(p.s. my favorite one to do when people make comments about my fabric- grab the stash and hiss at them. then start talking in a cooing voice to the fabric saying "dont worry babies mommy would never leave you. Dont listen to the mean person, you can stay right here" keep doing that until they leave the room uncomfortably")
