31  Re: True Blood Swap round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Xbeautiful_disasterX on: January 19, 2011 04:29:39 PM
I got my package from prettyrustyrobot yesterday but was unable to take pics due to my python having biting issues. lol But here they are!!!! I love everything so much, this was one of the best packages ive ever got in a swap!
First off she made this AMAZING Eric poppet! His fuzzy boots are adorable!

and he has a lil batte axe!

And then this beautiful purse that says fang banger on it!

And inside was a quinn coin purse, some teeth candy, and this awsom eric tin with the magazine clippings from the rolling stone issue.

And inside the tin was a note from Ameila and some amazing earrings! Which I put on and then had to go find my vampire fangs from halloween to take a pic in cuz they just needed the extra glam to add to their amazing-ness!

And then purhapse my favortie thing is this!

Please excuse the mess in the background, I had a hard time deciding what to wear to school this morning...lol

Anywayz I love love love everything! Thank you so much prettyrustyrobot! Thanks to all of you for swapping I had a reallly fun time doing this!

32  A love-atee manatee in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Xbeautiful_disasterX on: January 14, 2011 05:19:29 PM
Found this fabolous manatee plushie on cutoutandkeep and traced the pattern back to crafster!! https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=224170.0  I enlarged him quite a lot. The one on cutoutandkeep was white and I thought he was really cute  (http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/i_love_my_manatee)   I was ganna make him pink but I only had barley enough to make the pink and red heart. Oh well I guess that means a trip to the fabric store!!!!  Grin  more manatees to come soon. in the mean time try the pattern!!!! Its really simple and they turn out soooooooo cute! I enlarged it quite alot thow.

Thanks for looking!

33  Sam Merlotte from True Blood poppet-with a abs! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Xbeautiful_disasterX on: January 12, 2011 12:45:13 PM
I made this poppet for prettyrustyrobot for the true blood round 4 swap. He's only my 2ed poppet, and I'm not the best when it comes to clothes yet! His first pair of jeans and his first shirt turned out horrible! lol but, once redone, i think his duds turned out alright. I used the regular poppet pattern (not the elanor (boobie) one) I wanted him to be muscular so I sculpted abs! I'm going to make Eric soon, so Ill post up a tut when I do him, since he will require muscles too! I was soooo proud at how they turned out! And he's got boy bits Wink I also wanted him to have real hair, and since i do hair wefts on myself, I thought well Ill put all this old hair to use. I was blond for a while so I have soooooo much blond hair stashed up (Some of my hair was reallllllly expensive so when it got old and and frizzy I didnt want to throw it away.) I couldn't  put his weft on like I do mine ( I glue mine in since my real hair is sooo thin I do tracks across the back because my hair has a hard time of holding up braids to be sewn in.)  So I had to do some reseach on youtube for a full sew in weft.I started at he base of his neck and went around and around and around his head, and then cut it in layers. Since I used 100% human hair his hair can be straightened, hairsprayed, curled, ect. His eyes are embroidered, and his eye brows are just drawn on. I wanted to do a facial hair but since I was using human hair It looked dumb when I glued it on and I tried to sew it, but people wefts have tracks so that didn't work either lol. Oh well clean shaven Sam! Anyways, here's the pics I took but I'm sure prettyrustyrobot will take more!

His face

Him standing

Close up

The abs! and boy bits...wish I wouldnt have put them so far back, but they made a huge buldge!!! lol

35  A reptile collection *pic obease* in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Xbeautiful_disasterX on: January 05, 2011 02:05:37 PM
Been meaning to post these but just lost track of time. I did these guys a reallllllllllllllly long time ago...they were some of the first crochet items I ever made, well actually the tree frog was the first one. Anyways, heres the pics!

Red eyed tree frog, he was the first thing I ever made corchet-wise. His pattern can be found here at the roman sock http://littlegreen.typepad.com/romansock/tutorial-tree-frog.html

A turtle. I had an inspiration pic of him, and I think you can buy the pattern from etsy, but I looked and couldnt find the maker. He was the first thing I made without a pattern.

An axolotl. The inspiration for him was the one Katz (from etsy) made. I loved it so much but she didnt have a pattern for sale, so I tryed my best. I think I might remake him since this was soooo long ago and like the 3rd thing  I ever made...not the best lol the eyes are made of clay

And finally the Bearded Dragon. He dosent look very realistic, but to my beardis he did! I'd hold him up aginst their cage and bob his head and they'd bob right back. I made him becuase I heard of people making a fist and bobbing it at their beardies and they would bob back but mine never did untill I made the plushie! lol  He has eyes mad from clay too and He has little spikes on his head but you cant really see them in the pics  Sad
He was also done free hand with no pattern.

Thanks for looking!!!

I found this cute hat on etsy, but alas with no pattern. Sooo I improvised and made one! I used this pattern for the hat http://www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-a-hat/ and just added the embellishments! I looooovvvvvveeee it!

Not sure why my green looks so un-lime green in these pics, but its the same color as the original one.

And the original (from etsy)

Thanks for looking!

38  Twisted Fairytale swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by Xbeautiful_disasterX on: December 28, 2010 07:57:41 AM

I've been thinking about this one for awhile. And Ive really been thinkin about it  since spiceyhorse is saying their going to release American McGee's Alice: Madness Returns (part 2 of the original PC game) However, there are endless possibilities for this! Dosent have to be just Alice stuff, and there's plenty of inspiration from Grimms Fairy Tales! What do you guys think?
