Yay! I can finally post some more pictures! Although two of these were started last year, I finally finished and gave holiday gifts to my good friends...

The young one in the family got a family of gnomes:

My friend got a necklace. The colors in this photo are mediocre - the metal is more of an antiqued gold / brass, the pearls are whitish, off-white, light grey, medium grey, dark grey, and red.

My friends partner got a zombie food pyramid wall hanging. Again, the picture could be better. The words are painted in an iridescent green and the word "zombie" has a red shadow (which you can't see at all in this photo). The body parts are paper (printed out [since I discovered that I couldn't draw intestines], cut out, and then colored with pens and watercolor pencils - again, the color didn't show up in this photo) and mod podged onto the painted fabric pyramid.

I received the most splendiforous pendant today from mezcraft! Be ready to be amazed...

She used copies of real book covers from an exhibit of 1930's book covers - too awesome!!

Thank you so much mezcraft!! I absolutely love it!!

kksimone - cute stationary and great cross stitch!

LaughingLark - your mitts are such fun colors!
But they fit him, and he will leave one in a snowbank by accident soon enough, so the "galloping horse rule" was implemented.
I  love the "galloping horse rule"! It is an awesome rule! I need to remember this rule much more often!

I finished another WIP. My friend is a fanatic scrabble player, so I wanted to make her some scrabble tile coasters. Unfortunately it is exceedingly difficult to make words that go both horizontal and vertical like you do in scrabble. I thought about just doing words across, but for some reason it felt like I was cheating. So, I decided to go with the Boggle school and did random letters so that they could actually play "find words" with the coasters! The scrabble tiles are glued on to cork coasters and then felt is glued to the bottom. I was only able to make 3 because I ran out of consonants! This was one of the fun gifts to give - she had a really tough year and she really loved them!

skittlebub - cute wrap bag! It looks perfect for people who are baby wearing while still being stylish for non-baby wearing times!

Nooo - love the necklace - very pretty reds you used!

I finished a WIP! For Christmas I bought my husband two cutting boards and promised him that I would wood burn into them what they were used for: chicken and fish, other meat, strong flavored vegetables, other vegetables.

I posted about it here if you want to see the other side.

26  Designated Cutting Boards in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by DawnsTrees on: January 02, 2012 11:39:48 PM
Last summer my husband was cutting a wonderful, delicious pineapple. In my haste to taste the sweet fruit, I grabbed the last piece that was sitting on the cutting board and popped it into my mouth. MMMmmmm.....erm... garlic pineapple... blech! Then in November, after we had made salsa and cleaned up, I was cutting up some cookie dough and just couldn't resist a small taste....mMmmm...errrmm... jalapeno cookie dough.
Even after washing the cutting boards, those strong flavors that I otherwise love were determined to ruin my other yummies. Enough! I remembered seeing a brilliant craftster solution (I am so sorry - I can't find the original post to give credit) - designated cutting boards. So - guess what my husband got for the holidays?

I burned the images into the cutting boards. I haven't done wood burning in forever. I will say that the grain on the cutting boards gave me a little bit of trouble and it isn't the most professional looking thing, but if it keeps me from ever eating another garlic pineapple again, it is worth it! (and my husband loved it!)

sheepBlue - I always covet your TM things!

A2JC4life - thanks for the link to the hummingbird feeder! I will definitely be making some of these for the spring!

waggonswest - both of your quilts are great! I love the fabric on both of them, but that bug fabric is fantastic!

I have a few more things I can post since I found the correct SD card...

Snowman necklace - I made 2 necklaces and 3 sets of earrings with these guys - the hats are polymer clay. I didn't get a good picture, but on a couple of them I tied little scarves on them as well.

Gnomes - I made 13 little gnomes. Each one got a name and a little biography.

This one is my older daughter's favorite: Fern. She is going to wear Fern as a necklace.

My younger daughter has a few favorites, but Mimsy is high up on her list. She may be the lucky one to end up hanging from her car's rear-view mirror!

These were a lot of fun to make - I know that I will be making more soon!

Homerof2 - that is awesome! I can see the horror on my husbands face if I tried that on our new printer though...

I just received a fantastic package from zzdia! She sent me four gorgeous bracelets! The broomstick lace one (on the bottom of the picture) didn't photograph very well - it is really pretty! They fit beautifully and the colors are perfect. I look forward to wearing all of them!

She also sent me an extra - it is a gorgeous paper cut out! The bottom left got a little wrinkled, but it will look fantastic flattened out in a frame. Isn't it lovely?

Thank you zzdia!

I finally am getting around to posting some photos...

I made my niece a box for artist trading cards - which included the box, an ephemera box, pens and atc supplies, and 6 atc's that my daughters and I made (I posted about it with more photos here).

I finally finished my sister's monster bookmark kit - it has all of the pieces to make thirty monster bookmarks (yes that means that I had to cut out and score 30 bodies, sets of eyes, and teeth - which came to 300 little pieces of paper...). Unfortunately, the first time I made the box to put it all in I made a cool monster that I glued on both upside down and backwards from how the box opens... after a few sobbing moments at 2am, this second box is much simpler because I just couldn't do it again...

My nephew got a story block game

Each side of the nine blocks has a unique simple drawing (rocket ship, gnome, happy face etc). There are multiple ways to play but basically you roll the die and tell a story using the images that come up.

I also made 21 cards and 9 gift tags (I am not going to subject you to pictures of all of them, here is a group shot of a few...)

Over the summer my step-mother gave us some buttons that used to be her mother's and her grandmother's. My daughter and I made her a button tree out of some of those buttons. To be fair, my daughter did the majority of this, but I love how it turned out...

okay, enough for now. I am still crafting away - I have 9 more people to still craft for...
