1  Re: Middle Earth Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by AnarchyCupcakes on: August 05, 2014 08:22:20 AM
Well, as I can see my partner received a while ago I am going to follow suit and post what I sent her!

Merry and Pippen were her favorites, and she'd pinned some throw pillows, so I decided to make her some felt stuffies:

Then I decorated this little chest with part of a Gimli movie quote...

And inside...

Was a little charm necklace of a hobbit door... (sort of an extra)

And a charm bracelet that I themed off of the fellowship visiting the elves in Lorien

Thank you all for a lovely swap, and a stunning gallery!

I received this very awesome package from 3200Runner, starting with this tree of Gondor candle holder:

This lovely leaf of Lorien magnet:

This amazing Thranduil necklace is my favorite!

I love all of them, thank you so much!!!

3  O Hippo Day! in Felting: Completed Projects by AnarchyCupcakes on: August 08, 2013 08:59:26 AM
This guy was commissioned by a friend, and I loved how he turned out so I had to share...

He's needlefelted and I just had so much fun making his belly and face.

I received from Angielou1 and it was EPIC.  She told me to expect a Large Box, but I had no idea...

The background is that I have a Sherlock Holmes themed study/craft room.  Both new and old Sherlock stuff, and I'm a HUGE fan from childhood.  So she sent me a couple items to decorate my room with.

First, this really awesome hoopla

Next, the most impressive item that I never knew I wanted... A Lifesize Sherlock:

He is fully articulated, pose-able, and just must have taken a fantastic amount of time.  His feet have toes, people...

My bestie, Kfad and I are already plotting taking him on road trips, and posing him with my violin... Later, I will post more pics, but the epic reaction we had when I opened this should have been recorded!  I was utterly surprised and delighted. We may have Tumblr devoted to our adventures with him very very soon.

Thank you so much for the best addition to a Sherlock Study a girl could hope for!  Seriously amazed and delighted!

My partner, Angielou1,  is having a very hectic time of it right now, so since she received, I offered to post the pics for her... so here they are!

I had a lot of fun crafting for her.  Not pictured is the perler bead union jack magnet, but there was one of those as well.

As soon as I saw she liked Wallace & Grommet, I wanted to do something for it, because I love them and they are so carefree... so I designed these cute little finger puppets:

I knew that she liked the 10th Doctor, so I made her a Hoopla of "Allons-y" in Circular Gallifreyan:

Finally, since her Pinterest was so gothy and she likes the Vampires of Being Human, I decided it would be fun to make her a bust of Mitchell for her Large.

I lost myself trying to do the details in the hair...  and forgot that I was going to have to ship it.  This caused me endless anxiety (after a good nine hours of sculpting time)  but Angielou1 assures me that it arrived intact. WHEW!

I hope she liked everything!

6  Re: 2013 Stash-Busting Resolution Dotees GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by AnarchyCupcakes on: March 12, 2013 04:37:53 PM
I received this awesome dotee from Natasjadreams, based on my resolution to turn off Sherlock and study!  Representing some of my other resolutions, a dragonfly, a wee handmade book, a dolphin, and a yoga mat!!!
It's perfection!

Okay, so be prepared to be completely jealous of the creativity of these dotees.  I received 2/3 of them today.... and...

This cloud to remind me to visit the ocean and to go walking outdoors, from Bec99 .  I love all the little beads!!!  It's so perfect.

From Grasshopper to remind me to walk... this way cool grass sprite! My husband was so excited about this one, because he said it looked like something out of Miyazaki.

Thank you ladies!  I heart them!

8  Felt Food... A beginner's stash in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by AnarchyCupcakes on: February 12, 2013 02:48:48 PM
I have this theory that I finally get around to having a kid, I won't have the time to craft as much.  Therefore, I'm stocking up on time consuming but awesome handmade kids toys such as:

Mr. Tea, Mrs. Tea and a PopTart:

Cucumber slices and egg:

9  Completely Addicted... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by AnarchyCupcakes on: February 12, 2013 02:42:16 PM
... to glass tile pendants.  I can't get enough of them and was purchasing them at every local craft fair, but was frustrated I could never find the style I wished.  So, of course I learned how to make them.

My first batch, using magazine images:

My batch of "I just figured out how to do book pages"

I've also made some using images printed from my computer:

and scrap book paper, but haven't taken photos yet.  I'm going to try some with my own original artwork on them, just as soon as I figure out how to seal the gauche to my satisfaction!

10  Sherlock Stacking Dolls in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by AnarchyCupcakes on: February 12, 2013 02:33:43 PM
Okay, so I'm *fairly* sure I've completed these.  They've been sitting for a while whilst I debated adding background color to them (what do you think?), but I'm so afraid of ruining them. These matryoshkas are based off of BBC's Sherlock.

They aren't as perfect as I'd like, but I've never done characters on a curved surface before.  They were sketched, inked and then painted with gauche.  Definitely a learning experience, but such an undertaking I have yet to re-try the set.  I found the doll bases at a thrift store, and need to order some online, because it was really fun, even though it was challenging (or maybe because it was?).
