Teams will play every two weeks. There will be a new challenge to show your support for every match. At the end of the 2 weeks I will count the points and declare the winning house.

1.Houfflepuff : 1200
2.Slytherin : 440
3.Gryffindor 350
4.Ravenclaw 120

Week 1&2: Slytherin : 150 vs. Houfflepuff : 300
For this first match of the season, players are nervous and easily distracted by supporters of the other teams. Show support to your favorite team by making a sign, card, poster, badge or ornaments of some kind and state which house team you support.
Gives 5pts to your supporting team.
BadWolf314 catches the snitch for the Slytherin team!
Acadian Driftwood catches the snitch for the Hufflpuff!
Moonflames catches the snitch for Hufflepuff!
Hufflepuff WINS!!

week 3&4&5: Gryffindor = 50 vs. Ravenclaw= 110 ! (ends Wenesday January 8th)
In a quidditch match, you simply have to give your all. In order to score or hit for this match, the supporteur must produce an item that is to be or has been gifted!
BadWolf314 catches a snitch for Ravenclaw!
DragonChilde sends 2 bludger agaisnt Ravenclaw and mark 2 goals for Gryffindor!
MamanTattoo sends a bludger to the Ravenclaw team!
MamanTattoo sends another bludger to the Ravenclaw team!
Mistress Jennie scores 3 goals for Gryffindor!
Erinaquaheart scores 2 goals for Gryffindor!
TechnicolorAquahearts sends 2 bludgers against Gryffindor and score 2 goals for Ravenclaw!
DragonChilde sends a bludger agaisnt Ravenclaw!
MamanTattoo hits a Ravenclaw player!
Ravenclaw WINS!

week 6&7:Ravenclaw:10 vs. Slytherin : 290 ends Sunday January 26th
What would be Quidditch without brooms? Seriously, it wouldn't be the same played on flaying rugs!! To hit or score for this match, you must turn in a craft that has to do with brooms...Any link to them is accepted. Your project is made out of wood or it fakes wood? Your craft item has to do with cleaning? Kitchen witches, Corndoll and removable swiffer rags also accepted. Have fun! Because in competition, the important is to participate, not to win!

Erinaquaheart scores for Slytherin!
Magpirate hits Slytherin and scores for Ravenclaw!
DragonChilde catches the snitch twice!
Sends a bludger at Slytherin!
Slytherin WINS!

week 8&9: Gryffindor : 300 vs. Houfflepuff : 900 ends Febuary 6
For this match you have to craft something that to do with a factor that can influence a match outcome greatly: The weather! So if you made yourself kick-ass gloves for the next practice or you've conjured a rice snake to put at your door's feet, you've got your points! Also accepted: Papper snowflakes, frozen wreath, frosted cupcakes.... Put on a warm hat and get some quaffle through those hoops!
Magpirate catches a first snitch for Hufflepuff!
ErinAquaheart scores for Hufflepuff!
Acadian Driftwood catches a snitch for Hufflepuff!
Moonflames catches a snitch for HufflePuff!
MamanTattoo catches a snitch for Gryffindor!

Dragonchilde hits Hufflepuff!
Nicajeanie  scores a goal and catches a snitch for Hufflepluff!

Houfflepuff WINS!!

Slytherin : 1000 vs. Houfflepuff : 1360
Do you have what it takes to play in the finals?? For this challenge, you must use you stash only to create you items. Have fun!
Midkiffsjoy shows her support for the Hufflepuff team twice and goals for them 2 times!
And again.

Moonflames catcges 2 snitches for Hufflepuff!
AcadianDriftwood catches a snitch for Hufflepuff!
DragonChilde catches a snitch for Slytherin and score a goal

Houfflepuff WINS!!

complementary to this, anyone can catch the snitch each challenge by making something totally related to quidditch. Ex: like a knitted snitch hat, a team sweater or a quidditch field cake. It gives 150pts
The snitch can be caught multiple times during the match and does not end the game!

Anyone can mark a goal OR send a bludger by making a house-related item, of any house.
marking a goal gives 10pts to your supporting team, sending a bludger take off 10pts from the team you do not support.

Quidditch points do not count as house points. You can, however, submit them with another class and get the points from that class.

I'm working with the Head of House to make the finals match count, thought!

You choose your teams in the 2 that are matching up for the current week. A griffindor can support the slytherin team, even on the gryff vs. slyth weeks. Let's get flying! UP!

Flying: Flying is one of the primary methods of magical transportation.  But it is wise to be familiar with all types of magical transportation when a broom or carpet is not at hand.  One popular mode of transportation is by Floo Network. The Network connects most wizarding households and buildings. To travel by Floo Network, one must have Floo Powder.  Floo Powder is a glittery, silver powder used by witches and wizards to travel through the Floo Network. This powder was invented in the 13th century by Ignatia Wildsmith.  The powder turns a fireplace's flames harmless and emerald green. It is tricky to use; one must toss a handful of powder into a fireplace connected to the Floo Network, walk into the flames, and state the desired destination loudly and clearly to ensure arrival in the proper location. Otherwise, one could end up at the wrong location.  Transportation by Floo Powder is much quicker than by broomstick, but slower than Apparition. However, unlike Apparition, one does not require a license to use Floo Powder.  Show that you have mastered traveling by Floo Network by creating a project that is either glittery, silver like Floo Powder, emerald green like the flames, or a container that can hold your Floo Powder.  Make sure your project clearly shows your understanding so your points arrive to the right place.

Everyone's awesomeness is blowing me away! So much wonderful new ideas!!

Class: CoMC
House: Gryffindor!
Project name: Unicorn Yule sweater
desc.: I took the faithful owlet pattern and created unicorn colorwork instead of cabled owls. It's a size 5, for my daughter!

Class: Join DA: Fear of a name catch-up
House: Gryffindor!
Project name: Watercolor
desc.: I LOVE watercolor art but never really been able to embrace it. I found a little take-along watercolor box at the store last year and bought it, but was still afraid of using it. I finally took the plunge one night when the boys were asleep and my daughter was eguerly requesting to paint with me. We made those:

NEWT Subject: Arithmancy
Project Name: Doudoune fleur
Brief Description: I made this quilt over the summer. there's 2 silly holes in it I need to fix but it won't happen just now, so I'm showing you. For my arithmancy study, I equally devided lots of fabric and calculated the right amout of stripes to make a twin size doudoune. I quilted the batting with the fabric as I went, then used a flat sheet as the backing. My daughter loves it, which was the point, right?

Ok now, I'm SO much behind! Every one did awesome things!! I'll try to catch up a bit and win some points for my house!!! Let's say I'm back from my maternity leave! ahah

I wanted to post my signature assigment but I went and read the rules...oh well, I'd better get to it!! I happen to be knitting something I never did before: socks!!! and two at the same time at that. The most awesome part of that is that I'm using the wonderfull Unicorn Fart yarn Abbie made me!! I love it and it looks great already! Cheesy

Challenge: History of Magic
House: Gryffindor!
Project Name: Uniform studie
Desc: My daughter wanted to be Hermionne for Halloween, and I completed a costume for her just before she wanted to be a mermaid a week before Halloween... But, she wears it anytime she wants to play "potions" so nothing was lost. We can always use a Hogwarts uniform!
I bought a vest from a thrift store and re-built it to fit her. We took her brother's classy suit shirt and a red tie we had around. I also cut through a 3XL men's black t-shirt to make a robe, but it's not pictured. We also have black maryjanes to complete the look.

(She's making a shape-shifting potion)

Challenge: October Detentions
House: Gryffindor!
Project Name: Little hands tree
Desc: This tree has all my kid's little hands and mine in the center (which isn't really big!) We then all fingerprinted leaves with automn color; red, plum and gold Smiley

Yule Present and a Card swap
The Swap Gallery (link to come)

The festival of Yule marks the lowest point on the Wheel of the Year. The days have been growing shorter until the night has triumphed over daylight, winter weather is truly here now, and much of the plant and animal world has died or withdrawn from view. But we greet the Winter Solstice not with gloom and dread but with celebration! It is a time of parties, feasts, family gatherings, colourful lights and decorations, music and above all, the sharing of presents. As we exchange presents with family and friends, let's also share handmade gifts among our WWP family.
(thanks Wulf for the lovely text from last year Wink )

For this swap, send your partner a handmade, gift-wrapped present to be opened on Yule (December 21st). You also need to craft a handmade card with your holiday greetings. You may also include other items (made or purchased) for your partner's children or other family members if you like, but you should discuss it with your partner first.

Some information on the Sabbat: https://www.circlesanctuary.org/index.php/celebrating-the-seasons/winter-solstice

To participate, complete this questionnaire, and PM it to the organizer, MamanTattoo. Participants must post in the swap thread at least once a week, and maintain regular communication with their partners. Sharing the package you've received with everyone else is an important part of swapping, please post photos in the Swap Gallery. If you won't be able to for some reason, be sure to let your partner know early so they can take photos before sending.

58  Re: WWP Round 45 Samhain Swap (SU Oct 4-10) (SO Oct 28) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Mamaneedles on: November 03, 2013 01:11:14 PM
I think this is the deadliest Samhain swap gallery ever. Has any other one sent??

To feed the thread a little, here's the group shot I took before sending to Monnie!

A waldorf fall doll, some handprepared cha tea, the requested crocheted witch hat out of wool, handmade fabric covered buttons with the doll's leftovers, Tiny protective needle felt witch, needle felt ball acorns, Acorn Gypsy runes (orange bag -let's see if I have a shot of those too!) Protective cedar broom from my front door cedars and a handknitted pouch containing garlic, bay leaves, basilic, ginger root and peppermint- again for protection Cheesy and a pentacle I had laying around. Let's say I stuck to the theme this time!! Cheesy

Here you go!
First we have baby stuff!

Elemental cubes, good for practicing English too Wink and teething toy that he oh so love already!

Woodburned boxes. My son (3yr old) saw them and was so thrilled and claimed it as a tower just for him!

The mommy yummies. Actually there was a lipbalm too, (very berry lip balm) but some 5yr old took off with it before I even had a chance to take a picture of it. She also claimed a little wooden chest that had 3 stones in it. (treasures!)
So there are also sugarscrub, bath salt, soap and booty powder.

A kitchen witch and lovely witchy socks

...When I got back from tucking in the middle kid, my daughter proudly showed me that she had turn one of the teething toy into a mermaid!! The paper won't stay (she said she couldn't find her glue and use yogourt...) but I had to show you!

Project Runway is a mother-daugther thing here and some episode ago, Mariann decided to try sketching a dress. After she was finished, I told her "Let's go shop some fabric!" and we went "shopping" in my stash, which had all the right color for this wonderfull colorblocking dress Cheesy

She built the colorblocking front piece with the serger and I decided a raglan style would better fit her drawing so she serge the sleeves to the front and then the back piece (we decided on blue at mood) I sew the casing for the elastic and put it in, she sew it and voil!!

I really love how it came out! She really did 95% of it and she's so proud!
