1  Re: One Tiny WWP Imbolc Thing Gallery (sendout jan 28/2011) in The Swap Gallery by Ladyblades on: March 04, 2011 06:52:07 AM
Here are a couple of quick pics of the package I sent to Fullmoon. She is having some logistical issues with taking photos right now.

This is a cuff bracelet made of fabric that reminded me of seeds sprouting (it takes me back to my first year of college in Biology).

And the spoilage... the background is a few yards of fabric I had lying around, a spell book, a kitchen knife/atheme, a rainbow braided bracelet, and lots of stashy stuff for crafting and sewing.

Ali told me that she wants to study fashion design and I have a design studio at home so I couldn't help myself. Grin

I received from FullMoon. A beautiful chainmaille bracelet. She says it is a Japanese daisy weave. It fits perfectly! Grin

My sendout has to be put off again until Thursday because of transportation issues. I feel so trapped by life right now. I have no money of my own, I can't drive and all my energy is going to caring for my mother who has developed dementia.

Yippee! I'm next! I received my package from SpidersWeb today and I couldn't wait to post it (even though I've not been able to get out to send mine yet). The card, cookies and the hat are nicely visible in the first pic so I didn't take closeups to save space but I love them too!

Here's the whole package (closeups to follow)

A closeup of the stocking - AMAZING!!!

A Sand Labyrinth Kit  - I had an amazing experience walking a labyrinth just like this many years ago. I felt a very strong connection to spirit when I reached a certain part of the center. It was really awesome. This brings back the memories!

And last, but certainly not least, the most meaningful Goddess you could have sent to me. She is so beautiful. I cannot even say how much she means.

Thank you for being such an exceptional swap partner. I hope you are as excited about your package when you open it!  Grin

4  Re: WWP Samhain/Halloween Swap Round 23 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Ladyblades on: October 27, 2010 04:30:03 PM
I received a SWEET, yummy smelling package from squire_inaria today! It has a framed scying mirror (I didn't have one of these!), a tree of life sculpture (we both love it's twisted qualities), a handmade ring (wearing it now), Cleansing bath salts for pre-ritual, two different oils (Samhain and Divination), a dream pillow (I'm taking this with me when I work as caregiver on the weekends!),  and some regional treats from Texas - a sucker shaped like the state, mints in a personalized tin, some bluebell seeds (I hope they grow here) and hot sauce (of course!) The salts decided to cleanse the entire package but it all stayed in the box so I could retreive them.  Cheesy

Here is a group shot

And a close-up of the sculpture and the ring

It is all so wonderfully personalized. I love it all! BTW the mirror's frame has been claimed by my partner. A photo of me that she really liked was in need of hanging  Smiley I am still working on the other piece for you and I will send at the beginning of the week with extras. I felt so guilty sending only the minimum requirements when I had such grand plans!

5  Re: Harvest Time Healing Samhain card Swap (Sign-ups 9/20-9/24) Due Oct. 15th in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Ladyblades on: September 22, 2010 02:09:02 PM
I guess I'd better sit this one out. Healing to all anyway.
Here's a healing/balancing mandala to help.

Blessed Be.

I got it! And it was worth the wait!
Rippled Water made a very special, personalized package for me.
The box smelled of pretty flowers when I opened it. It contained 3 scented items: a Reiki charged candle for Compassion (smells like orange sherbet), lotus incense to honor the Goddess KwanYin, and a bath tea bag with mint, lavender, chamomile and marjoram in it for energizing. A KwanYin Corn Dollie (she's too pretty to burn but I know what to do instead). And a bag of rocks (I LOVE rocks) - but not just any rocks, the note said so! They are Morganite to help connect with angelic energies, Rhodonite to raise self-worth and ward off negativity, and Amazonite (I have some of this one and I love it) to promote self-love, opens communication and connect to/retain the energy of universal love. Amazing!

Two beautiful hand-made cards: one for the notes to go with the package and the other is Tips for Contacting Spirit.

And last but not by any stretch, least - a gemstone pendulum for helping me connect to my spirit guides and a STUNNING beaded amulet bag!

Such sweet, crafty goodness! I love all of it!!! Thank you, RippledWater. You are a gem.

These are some pictures of the pieces I sent to DeSade13 (she posted on the main board). I know how hard it was to photograph these!

This is closer to the color

And the matching boy shorts

I'm glad they fit and you like them!

Finally, pictures!
This is a lovely round of massage oils in hand decorated bottles-

A hand painted toy box

Plus Extras! Little yummy, edible lubes, some hot cinnamon gum, tissues with more cool tattoo designs and a wet-wipe that says "Total Bitch" (love it!)

All of my package is fantastic! I love it all. Thank you DeSade13.

Now, back to work!  I have enough to do your large piece over so I will and I'll have it out by week's end! And it's SWEET!

9  Messenger Bag Embroidered (Image heavy) in Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects by Ladyblades on: August 11, 2010 10:41:28 AM
This is a bag I made for a young girl for Christmas 2009 and I'm just getting around to posting it.

It was made from a pair of jeans that had been worn by her Grandmother and a couple of very similar paisley fabrics (if you look closely you can tell).
This is a closeup of the machine embroidery on the front flap of the bag. The lime green accents are in cotton thread with the rest done in rayon 40 wt.

and a closeup of the name piece on the flap. All of the embroidery took 5 hoopings.

This is the back of the bag. The pockets are usable and the button fly has been lined to be used as a pocket too.

This is the inside has a full-sized pocket made from the elasticized part of a sundress fabric (the kind that makes a dress with only one seam) and a pocket made from one of the back pockets from the jeans with "Jeans lovingly worn by Grandma Goofy" stitched on it.

She recently told me she doesn't know what to use the bag for. She thought using it as a bookbag would be too hard on it. Teenagers....  Huh

10  Machine Embroidered Leather Pillow in Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects by Ladyblades on: August 11, 2010 10:08:39 AM
This is a pillow I made for an Aids Ministries fundraiser and I had originally set out to make a purse but I wanted it to appeal to the men who were bidding so I made it from leather and a pillow. (there were more men than women going to attend)

The fabric parts are made from a silk boucle skirt that I repurposed. The embroidery is all rayon 40 weight and the buckle is an antique mother-of-pearl.

Here is a closeup of one of the embroideries.

This is the other embroidery. It is actually a quote by Edwin Hubbel Chapin.

The winning bidder paid $75 and was really happy! Others who were bidding against him want more. Cheesy
