1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Henna on: July 07, 2010 01:32:12 PM
Very pretty. Just in case you haven't considered this, there are other things you can do to improve the stain after you remove the paste

1. some people say putting a layer of vicks will help (the camphor darkens the henna)
2. the longer you stay away from water after taking off the henna will determine how long it lasts.

of course there are a lot more things, but they're all old wives tales so I don't know how much weight they actually carry.

I had no idea you could do this with beads instead of coils. Holy Jeebz you've inspired madness!

HOLYCRAPAWESOME?! Seriously I don't know how you had the patience for that. I would have gotten frustrated quite easily when assembling it. Kudos to you! It's GORGEOUS! Cheesy
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: The random RESIN question thread! on: June 03, 2010 11:31:58 AM
I don't play with resin or anything but it's always interested me. However the other day something occured to me and I thought maybe I should pass this on to all you resin lovers.

I was taking out my coloured contacts the other day to replace them with a fresh pair... anyone's ever thought about setting those in resin? Obviously ones that have already been used... I think it'll look pretty cool just hanging in the resin. Dunno if the toxicity would break down what the lens is made of.

Just a thought Smiley If anyone can make it work please send me a link! I'd love to see what you come up with  Cheesy

Now this is a place where I'd like to chill out during the summer. Can you imagine sitting there during a sunset?

OMG. Love? <3

Now if only you can find a way to get rid of those pesky bloodsuckers.... Cheesy

@ Rosemary, definitely gunna do a flap next time to protect the brushes from mingling with each other when it's rolled. I love that you can just toss it in the wash though when it gets dirty!

@ maidofspades, make sure you do a closure! then it makes it harder for teh kitteh to break in and steal the fluffy stuff  Cool I failed with mine but I don't have a kitteh so I don't have to worry as much  Cheesy

Clever idea!! I love how you took the techniques from the TOL pendants and made it work for other things. So wicked!!!  Grin

Very cute! I bet if you made a bigger version it would look fabulous as a pendant!
10  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / makeup brush roll on: May 15, 2010 09:50:20 AM
So, this is my first post here in this forum, but not on Craftster and I made this awhile ago but thought I'd share Smiley Since Jan (when I made it) I've gotten quite a few more brushes and reorganized my makeup collection so I think I'll be making a new one to fit with my new brushes Smiley
rolled up Smiley

closeup on my horrid stitching. I'm still an uber noob at this sewing stuff and when I tried to do the ribbon as the tie to close the roll I ended up stitching it in wrong (right sides together, flip inside out, wrong sides stiched---AGHHHH) I'll master it soon hopefully.

open. without brushes

open. with brushes: it fits one mascara, a variety of brushes, tweezers, spooly, plus eyeliners Smiley

I used just scrap pieces of cloth (I actually think this is a pair of my brother's pj pants.) and followed the tutorial from SecretLifeOfABioNerd (who btw, I absolutely adore)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmbkwgV4Rb0

Next time I'm gunna make it bigger and perhaps put a flap so it'll protect the brushes from each other.

C/C welcome!
