Oh man, that's so awesome.  I covet your breadbox! I'm keeping an eye out myself at all the thrift stores for something similar, although I've been wishing for a metal box.  Maybe it will happen!
132  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Chi Ears That Open on: November 28, 2009 09:00:34 PM
Like how?  I've made my fair share of Chi ears in my time, so I might be able to help, but I'm not too sure what you are describing here.

That's pretty awesome.  How are they attached to the wall?  I'm making a mobile/wind chime with mine when I get enough.

No decoration really needed, imho, but paint pens work well on that sort of plastic, if you want to whip up a simple design.  The soap is really pretty on it's own, though, and you could really get away with just wrapping them in some gauzy fabric and tying it off on the top with a ribbon/embellishment of some sort.  I like using bells and that wire garland.

It still looks really nice.  I love doing this to old furniture, and plan on outfitting my baby's room this way!

And yeah, the stripper (and also contact cement, if you ever dabble with it) really hates that laminated particle board so much cheap furniture (and cabinets) come with now days.  My husband and I found this out the hard way when refinishing some cabinets in the kitchen.

These would be really gorgeous on a center piece, maybe with some sprigs of green pine needles.  Maybe glue them/secure them to some wire to insert into some foam.  I think that, even if they are really light, they would be still heavy or strangely shaped to hang from ribbon without drooping or flipping sidewise without being mounted in a secondary manner.

These are so awesome! I love slouchy hats.

I also love your plugs.  Is that concave ebony?

I note some damp spots on your osb there, so you may want to watch it for warping.  Not sure how bamboo does, though, it may be like cork and totally ok with extra moisture. Otherwise, it looks really nice.  I guess the baseboards are going in later?  That was always the worst part for us, but the most satisfying.

Wow, that looks really nice. Any pics with it on?

I like how they are all different sizes.  Pretty cool.  And I LOVE Chocolate Beer cupcakes.  Yum!
