1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Nevermore Fabric Purse on: March 13, 2013 10:19:23 PM
When I saw this fabric, I had to have it...and I had to make a purse with it. It's like Michael Miller took a can opener to my brain.

It's a sort of draw-string bag. I did not have a pattern for it.

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / First Quilt on: May 20, 2012 04:24:14 PM
First quilt. All by hand, no pattern, love fish! 9 by 1 inches. Still needs a wee bit of tweaking.

C&C welcome  Smiley
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / VBI wristlet after deruyter2008 on: September 17, 2010 03:29:36 PM
So, here is my VBI wristlet, following deruyter's tute (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=358767.0)

The outside zipper was the biggest pain in the ankles, and I'm so glad I laminated the fabric first. I bled a lot during and after the pinning. My sewing machine needed CPR twice during the process (once, because one of my pooches wanted to help and plopped down on the foot....argh  Roll Eyes)

I got the fabric on etsy by showpony....LOOOOOVE it

I decided to go with only one ID holder on the outside and a bigger coin zipper on the inside.

Accordion bill holder. Hello Presibama Smiley

Secret pocket for those heavier days o' the month Tongue

I had a lot of spine for some reason and at the same time was annoyed by having to find chapstick....and thought....ROOM FOR A SECRET CHAPSTICK POCKET  Grin

I added a strap to the outside pocket so my phone won't fall out.

Thank you deruyter2008 for putting up that tute. I love my new wristlet!!!!
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Buttercup bag with bats on: September 06, 2010 06:46:23 PM
ok, I feel bad, because I really have to work on my swaps, but something overcame me and I made a bag instead. The pattern is from 'Made by Rae' (http://www.made-by-rae.com/2009/02/free-buttercup-bag-sewing-pattern.html) and the fabric stuff is a stellarcheri influence (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=357497.0)

I used a background fabric that, I feel like, makes it look a bit lunar surface, with the batty fabric on top of it. I'm so proud of myself, because I didn't have to buy anything. Both fabrics (and lining too) are from my stash. Due to the fact of me being a bat nut, I'm probably going to use it not just during Halloween. Not sure yet if I'm going to add long straps, or shorter ones....leaning towards short though. KK, done blabbering...here are the pics:

and here is the inside. I put in a pocket for my phone, camera (which is empty, because I'm taking a picture  Grin, and plannerthingy

5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Meet Walter, the wartskin frogfish on: August 08, 2010 02:49:03 PM
I have a bathroom to decorate (strange underwater creatures) and decided to make a wartskin frogfish (yes, there really is such a thing as a wartskin frogfish  Grin).
Walter is made out of Activ Clay (love this stuff, but it'll crack!!!). He's about 11 by 7 by 7 inches and painted with acrylics.

Here he is from the side. I do have to say, I'm a little proud of the way his eyeball turned out Roll Eyes

Here he is from the front:

And here is his fishy behind:

C&C's are always welcome!!!!
Thanks for saying hi to Walter!
6  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / metamorphosis wreath on: March 21, 2010 09:12:11 PM
I wanted a spring wreath, but I could only find weird bunny-fuffoo ones, so I made my own. The frog eggs are plastic beads that I filled with black polymer clay and then glued together. The tadpoles, half-froggies and the amorous frogs are made out of sculpy and painted with warhammer paints (not sure what type of paints they are, but I love their consistency). I wanted to finish this project, so I could move on to the pasta portrait challenge Wink so I just painted a gumball machine foggie instead of making him/her out of polymer clay.

CC's welcome

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bug Purse on: December 20, 2009 05:26:45 PM
I'm a docent at the Detroit Zoo. I needed a little purse (just for wallet, phone, chapstick and a little flashlight to point out frogs).  I didn't find a cute one in the shops, so I decided to make my own in bug shape. The beading took the longest.

The bag is made out of quilter's cotton and the wing part is made out of some sort of sheer (this really inspired the purse)

This shows the backside (since it's a zoo purse I thought I'd go with leopard print), The inside fabric is covered in little black ants. It also has a little pocket for my cellphone.

How's it hanging! ...This way Wink

Thanks for peaking!
8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Baby Painting on: December 18, 2009 09:31:07 PM
This is an acrylic painting of my friend's baby that I did about a year ago. Dimensions are 16inX20in

9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Snow Leopard on: December 16, 2009 09:37:48 PM
I've made this polymer clay, acrylic paint, and plastic whiskers (my puppy almost had to sacrifice his for my art), for a 'co-workerfriend' for our work-secret Santa. Comments and criticisms welcome.
