1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / candy cardigan @ knitty.com on: April 24, 2005 03:35:32 PM
i'm having a bit of trouble reading the pattern for this baby, but i'm so in love that i can't help but push forward.

(note: i am making the medium size.)

1. in the upper body section, it says to "pick up and k 132 [140, 148, 156, 168, 176] sts evenly along one long edge of waist band." yet... in the striped waist band section above, it says to simply knit until you reach 28/30/32 etc inches long. in my case, i knit to thirty inches, and i have WAY more than the alloted amount for a "medium" size of knitted rows.... more still for the "large" size. i have 168 rows, and will drown in the XL size. should i pick up all the stitches anyway? i know i should, but if i do, how do you think i should altar the pattern? i'm reluctant to alter it yet, because of my second question...

2. where are the armholes??!?!!?!?! am i completely missing this part of the pattern?Huh?? i've never worked with stitch markers before, so are those a key element in acchieving the arm holes and that's why it's passing me by?

thank you so much in advance!
xoxoxo tangerine.
