Soorawn: Hahaha... I don't have any biological sisters, but I have about 120 sorority sisters. It's fun times. Luckily I only live with one in our apartment and not with 33 in the sorority house! And your knitting is beautiful! I wish I had the patience/time/energy to learn how to!

Wow, Im shocked. Normally by this point in the year Ive crafted for almost all of my family for their birthdays, but most of their gifts were store bought shame.  But I guess I couldnt make fish or a fish tank and my dad has a particular coffee place he frequents and the fiancs usual gift is a trip to Disneyland

Anyways, Im in charge of birthday presents for all of my sisters this year. However, this spring semester the crafty bug didnt bite me, so the only crafty thing I made for them were shot glasses (or toothpick holders if youre in Disneyland) if they turned 21. The rest of the presents were themed gifts of sorts: hot chocolate cups with mix; bags of candy; spring break themed pails with sunglasses, sunscreen, and candy; and gardening tins with those little pots ready for planting, gloves, and a shovel. May and June are going to be finals themed, so if anyone knows of something easy to craft for about 20 girls on that theme, let me know!!

1.   Ribbon pillow
2.   Paint a pina colada glass
3.   Sorority letter bag
4.   Photo luminary thing for one friend
5.   Photo luminary thing for roommate
6.   21st Birthday glass
7.   Jewelry display out of a picture frame
8.   Mothers Day present wine themed coasters
9.   Fathers Day present undecided, last year I made him this: and
10.   2 Squirrel stuffies (either out of socks or out of gloves, cant decide)
11.   Crayon T-Shirt for a class project
12.   Poster Board for a class project (hey, if I busted out the cricut, it totally counts!)
13.   About 6 tissue paper orbs for the same class project

14.   22nd birthday present with a wig out theme, but I dont know what to do
15.   Decorate the living room and roommates room in red, white, and blue and red and gold for when her boyfriend returns from deployment (hes already in, but theyre coming home tonight!)
16.   Make a cake and decorate it with army men for roommates boyfriend
17.   Brothers birthday present
18.   8 Plates that look like this:
but with a bow and pearl necklace and the names of my sisters in the Pearl family
19.   Rag doll for my sorority little sister (part of a tradition we have, we give the little rag dolls for their firstborn and they make us garters for our wedding!)
20.   Set of camera plates for boyfriends sister inspiration from https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=247653.0
21.   Embroidered pillowcase
22.   Penguin PJ bottoms for mom
23.   Dog treats!
24.   My first rag quilt for my coworkers
25.   Paint-a-dream type platter for the family I used to babysit for (but moved away  Cry)
26.   Name book for the now 10 month old I babysat for his first birthday
27.   A place book for his new baby sister that on her way (San Diego, of course!)
28.   Something dinosaur for my little sorority sisters best friend
29.   7 stuffed turtles for the Pearls who are not graduating
30.   Something for a close sister who took over my chair position this year Ive been a mentor to her and I want to make her something community service related. Her big event this semester was a prom dress drive, so maybe something after that

A lot of it I have to do tonight/by Wednesday... at least the first 6 on the list, the decorating and the cake making for tonight, and the ragdoll and something dinosaur and community service by Wednesday too. I'm sure Ill finish once it becomes Christmastime again. And once my wedding is less than a year away! Then I can start doing all the paper crafting at least!!
26  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: I'm in love with triptychs now haha on: April 05, 2010 04:02:48 PM
I've always wanted to learn how to do this!
These are absolutely gorgeous. I definitely want one when I have my own place to hang it in.
I think I love the cat tails the most though. It give me a nice warm Southern feeling. Smiley

DixieMae--- No way! I'm a DZ too!  Cheesy

I made some plates last semester for little sis reveal... They took some time to do, but the process was pretty easy. I'm starting on a set for my "family" that will look like the ones I already made, so I could tell you how long they take once I'm done!

I'm making stuffed turtles for girls who did more than enough community service hours last semester as an incentive for girls to keep on this semester! I was trying to learn how to make chinese knotted turtles, but I couldn't figure out how to do anything past the head of the turtle. Sad Of course, the stuffed turtles were on my list for last year's 50 and that didn't get done... :/

I also make flower pots as a quick and easy present... I'm sure you can get some little ones for cheap, paint them pink with white polka dots and green letters? Or put little turtles on some? And for the flowers you can get a bouquet of daisies or roses and just use one (or a few) to fill them with. Or buy seeds and put the packets in the pots!

Hope that helps! I'm so excited to see what you make because I am SO excited to see more DZ ideas!!

Oh man. I'm totally slacking on this. I've opened up my document with the 50... but still haven't gone through them all, so right now it's a combination of last year's list as well... :/

At least I have a whole bunch of fun wedding crafts to the list! I got engaged on Valentine's Day, but the wedding isn't for another 542 days (and 30 minutes), so I can't really get too much done with that.

DixieMae--- What are these DZ crafts you speak of?  Smiley
29  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: California Residents! help please! on: March 26, 2010 12:01:22 AM
I'm not sure where you are, but in downtown San Diego I know there's a rooftop bar at the Ivy hotel and I think there's another one as well...

I went to the one I'm forgetting the name of right now and it has an awesome view of the baseball stadium, the bay, and Coronado Island. Of course, it's probably really pricey, as I'm finding out most of the things worth having are. :/

This is a super cute and relatively easy favor idea!
Glass etching is my go-to gift when I'm out of ideas or out of time!

I was just wondering if you had a creative way of asking your girls to be bridesmaids?
I'm trying to think of some cute way to do it and thought of doing a picture of us in a cute frame with "will you be my bridesmaid" in the matting of the picture...
