21  Peas In A Pod Mancala (Picture Heavy) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Crying Goddess on: January 19, 2012 10:27:22 AM
I was recently in a board game swap. Upon seeing a ton of peas in a pod related items I asked her if she liked them and this is how she responded "I do love the look of the peas in a pod things.  It is ironic though that I actually HATE peas.  They are disgusting lil vegetables that should not exist unless they are in a form that is decorative or useful (not edible).  LOL I didn't even realize how much I liked them until you asked the question." So the ideas slowly came together and I decided to make her a peas in a pod themed mancala game! The peas are just simple green beads. The pods are for the captured peas. The flowers are the cups and the leaves and the catapillars are for decoration.
On to the pictures!

Rules for mancala:http://boardgames.about.com/cs/mancala/ht/play_mancala.htm

The mancala board ideas are now unlimted in my head. Expect to see more.
Thank you for looking. Please let me know what you think.

EDIT: In case anyone was wondering this thing took 32 hours to make.

23  Monopoly Inspired Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Crying Goddess on: January 13, 2012 09:36:22 AM
I was really inspired by my recent board game swap to make myself this necklace. I love it so much! The only problem is my cats hear it and think it's a toy.
It's made from houses and hotels from a monopoly set. The ends are some cute train buttons I found.

My favorite part! For the four railroads! The Reading, Pennsylvania, B&O, and Short Line!

A detail shot of the houses and hotels.

My boyfriend's dad likes moose. Like is probably not a strong enough word. There are more then sixty moose in his living room. All year. Which lead to these moose antler pillows.  Grin

To give you an idea of size my boyfriend's arm is about 3 feet long.

26  Sorcerer's Stone made from Paper in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Crying Goddess on: November 11, 2011 06:39:54 PM
With the release of the last Harry Potter movie at midnight I got really HP inspired and ended up trying to make a sorcerer's stone. The problem was I had no clay or any other material I could think of to make it. So I took the one thing I had which was paper, paint, and that stuff that makes clay shiny (I can't remember what it's called) and made this.

(Sorry for the bad photos the good camera died)

27  Monster Book of Monsters box in Completed Projects by Crying Goddess on: October 24, 2011 06:55:52 AM
For the Back to Hogwarts 2 swap I made my partner this box based off this one that I found on her wists: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=297233.msg3385568;topicseen#msg3385568

Now here's my version. I named him fluffy

I painted the outside of the box brown then painted on the letters. I then cut out the fur and glued it on.

The teeth and the eyes. Believe or not this was my first time working with clay.

Close up of the letters Cheesy

And an action shot of my boyfriend getting his face bit off Cheesy
