1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Painted Trinket Box on: July 19, 2011 06:09:36 PM
Since my swap partner finally received, I can finally post the trinket box I made her. This was the first time I've tried painting anything in a good long while, and I'm extremely pleased with the way it turned out. She mentioned she loved hippie themed things, so I decided mushrooms would be perfect. I don't know about anyone else, but it made complete sense to me. Anyways, onto the pictures!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Circle Skirt for Infinity Dress?? on: June 30, 2011 10:51:27 AM
I believe I finally understand how to attach the the band and the straps, but how in the world do you make the circle skirt?
The length is determined by the the distance from the inner circle to the outer circle, correct?
How do you figure out the diameter of the inner circle?

Also, do you think it's absolutely necessary to have a serger for this project if you're using a that stretchy dress material (I don't specifically know what it is but I know a lot of nice what I call "church" dresses are made of it)? I have a relatively basic Brother machine and as far as I've found, they don't make a serger foot for it.

Thank you!
3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Goat's Milk Soap Questions. on: August 08, 2009 04:29:57 PM
I absolutely LOVE the goat's milk soaps I've bought and used in the past, and today while I was looking for beeswax in Michael's (never found the kind I wanted) I found a package of MP goat's milk soap. I'd like to add a nice essential oils. This is my first soap-making, so I'm pretty clueless as to... everything (thank God the package has basic directions  Roll Eyes)

Basic questions of mine include:
How long should the increments be that I heat it in the microwave to melt it?
At what point should I add the EO?

I really like light and sutble fragrances. Nothing flowery or such things.
Any suggestions for a scent?

Thank you!
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Wool dreads?? on: August 04, 2009 08:58:39 AM
After coming across this thread a couple nights ago, I've decided to make a set of wool falls.
However, I'd rather not pay $20+ to get a couple skeins of Colinette Point 5. Basically, I need suggestions for cheap-ish materials to make dreads like those I referenced above (IOW: "clip-in", not something I'd need to braid in or have to make more than an hour commitment to wearing.)
