31  Pink & Blue Bunnies in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by KiwiDragons on: April 12, 2009 11:35:57 PM
I made these to send to some penpals. I guess they are just in time for Easter, although by the time they arrive, Easter will be over. That's ok though. I think they came out pretty cute. I don't really know a lot about embroidery, but the nose and mouth came out ok. The only thing I wish I did was add a tail, but I totally forgot.

These were so quick and easy to make. I like things that I can just bust out in one sitting.  Smiley

32  Netbook Bag Envelope Style in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by KiwiDragons on: March 02, 2009 06:36:29 PM
First I want to give thanks to this tutorial. It really helped me figure out to how to do a lining. Even though the tute is for a zipper bag, I just replaced the zipper with a flap.

This is only my 2nd bag that I've made without a pattern. I'm especially pleased with how the flap came out since I just winged it. I also added some batting on the inside to make the bag a little more protective of the netbook (it's a Dell Mini 9). The only thing I have left to do is add a closure. I was thinking about a button or something, but I don't have any in my stash that are big enough.

What do you think? Any other ideas for a closure besides a button? Input appreciated.  Smiley

33  Doll Scarf (1st crochet project) in Crochet: Completed Projects by KiwiDragons on: January 20, 2009 05:46:19 PM
OK, so actually it's my 2nd, but my 1st...well, I'd rather not talk about it.  Tongue

It's a little curly-I guess I'm not quite sure how to control tension yet. I know this is so plain and simple, but I have to be honest-I'm just so proud of it! I really hope to be able to make amigurumis some day, but this is a nice start-at least I finished it.

It will go to a swap partner (not the deer, he's just the model).

Monkey is Home!
Monkey is finally back from Canada. He is such a cute little guy, I can't wait to get to know him a little better.

Monkey and all the Goodies he brought home, including a little messenger bag with extra clothes in it, chocolate, postcards, pins, tons of stuff!

Monkey brought a little Valentine home with him.

My favorite picture of Monkey in the scrapbook with a Canadian Beaver.

And even though he decided to remain in Canada, Machida had some great times while he was with turbo_mom. Here he is enjoying some awesome bananas and ice cream.

Thank you so much turbo_mom!

35  Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 9 Winter Vacation(Sign Ups 10/27-11/02;Send Out 11/09) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by KiwiDragons on: October 30, 2008 09:29:07 AM
Wow, things got busy, I'm so glad I was still able to send in my questionnaire. Machida Monkey is the lucky visitor again-he had such a good time in Australia, he's ready for more adventures.

Here he is showing off some stuff from his first adventure.

I'm not one with the scrapbooking either, but this time around, I'm going to start much earlier.

36  A Simple Kitty Cat in Needlework: Completed Projects by KiwiDragons on: September 03, 2008 04:03:14 PM
This my third complete cross-stitch. I have started with really small projects in order to gain some confidence. This was a kids "learn to craft" project. I thought it was cute, so I did it myself.  Smiley

Being a project for a kid, it was really simple. I didn't like how a lot of the line work went either, but I went ahead and just followed the pattern. It looks a little messy to me, but I still think it's cute.

Enjoy.

37  Re: OTT 19- One Tiny Thing in The Swap Gallery by KiwiDragons on: August 13, 2008 04:13:14 PM
My partner, saragoodman3 (maker of the dragon breast sparrow) has been having a hectic time lately, so I'm going to post pictures of what I sent her (she received already).

Three of her themes were dog, tree, and green and tried to combine those into one item:a Green Tree Dog!

Mostly green, with brown felt for ears, eyes and paws (and french knots too).

Back Side Freckles

I was really happy with how this came out and I hope that my partner was just as happy to receive the little guy!

Prepare to mark another item off of your lists. I received the fabulously gorgeous shawl made my Pinkleo! It was packaged with a cute little note too!

It's a little hot for it right now, but I totally plan on using it for fall/winter! The colors are awesome and it's so much prettier person. Thank you so much!
