I think there was already a fruit and veggie swap, but what about just a fruit swap?  You could say your favorite fruits, and then you could get and send five objects (five-a-day, get it?).  Whaddya think?

23  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Please Help- Painting on Plastic! URGENT! on: September 05, 2005 06:56:36 AM
Hi, I really need help, I'm painting some chairs for some people we know.  They are just plastic chairs, and I was wondering- after I clean it and use a plastic primer, can I just use any paint to paint it with, and do I need a sealer and if so, what sort?  Thanks!

25  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Ain't Flying Fun? Swap on: July 27, 2005 04:50:04 PM
OK, this could be cool, a swap for people who fly often, be it for work or for visiting relatives or just vacation.  They would tell you some things they like to have while they fly, and you would also have a list of required stuff.

Some stuff you could send:
A nice, big, sturdy tote you made.  This could be required.
Some hair ties and things to keep their hair back.
Lip balm.
Pretty bracelets not made of metal.
Wee blankets and pillows.
Journals and neat pens.
Books they've said they like, books they said they don't have, or random books that you find that THEY WOULD LIKE.
A case for their iPod/Walkman.
A case for their jewelry or make-up.
Nice lotion.
Knitting or crochet supplies.
Embroidery supplies.

Anything else you guys can think of?  Is this a crazy idea, or is it ok?
26  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Free Samples on: July 24, 2005 07:24:12 AM
I know we have to "Where to get stuff to Recycle/Revamp" board, but I think we need a board of where to get free samples.  This would be esspecially good if someone had already requested and got one, to see what to quality was.  Any thoughts?  I would be happy to moderate.

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

Details of swap:  This is a swap for teens only.  It will be a "Teens Through the Eras"  swap, so if two people want to still do the '90's, I will pair you two up.  Basically, it is pop culture from the '20s to the 90's.  There  may be a bit of research involved, but hey, it'll be all worth it.  Possibly at least one medium OR large item, and as many small items as you want.  Don't be stingy, that just isn't nice.  But, in all seriousness, these are people who are sending to you, do you want to send them a necklace and they send you a full outfit?  Didn't think so.  Also, I hope there'll be NO FLAKERS.  Flakers will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.  *Joke*  I might add, we want to show everyone how responsible we are, so, for the love of Craftster, NO FLAKING!  I'm a moderator now, and it'll be really bad for any flakers.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Hey, we're visiting Ithica way more often than we'd like for car troubles.  Does anyone know any cool, cheap vintage stops around there?  Even just cheap craft stores.  Also things around Elmira would be muecho apriciated.

-Dress up, 80's style!  Off the shoulder tops, neon, scruncies, Madonna, MORE Madonna, acid wash jeans, etc.
