1  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Spiced Christmas Nuts on: November 23, 2011 08:00:54 PM
I printed this recipe out after you posted it and put it in my pile of things to try--I made them today to take to Thanksgiving dinner and just wanted tell you they are DELICIOUS! I used pecans, and might add a teensy bit more spice to them next time around (I measured a pretty light 1/4t since I wasn't sure!)

I'll be making a double-batch at Christmas to put in some pretty jars Smiley Great hostess gift!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Mocha Slouchy Delight Hat on: October 12, 2011 07:58:55 PM
What would say is the difficulty of this hat? I'm a proficient knitter and have wanted to tackle crochet for so long, but still just know the basics : )

This is SOOOO CUUUUTE! I tried clicking the pattern link it got a red X. Just curious if you're still working on it or if my computer is being fussy!
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: bulletin board brainstorming - i could use some creative idears! on: August 12, 2011 05:09:37 AM
Or how about a tree, and Christ is the trunk and good choices extend out the branches??

What about a maze sort of thing, or a path with a series of forks?

I like the maze idea, too! You could incorporate "choices" as pockets in the maze, but ultimately have Christ as the biggest pocket/most appealing spot/exit to the maze or something. Obviously you wouldn't want to put anything gnarly as the other choices (adultery + school = weird, haha), but maybe some of the common issues kiddos these days are facing. Stuff like video games, TV, etc... or even socially/school environment-wise you could have things like gossipping, teasing, excluding others!

10  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Re: Embroidered Steampunk Jacket on: June 28, 2011 07:27:26 AM
LOVE this!  I've never had access to machine embroidery, but knew that it had so much potential beyond putting out-dated kittens on some ugly sweatshirt!  Way to go!  Cheesy
