1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / LIMBO / Honeydukes 1:144 miniature room on: September 19, 2018 03:09:38 PM
Moved from: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=42.0

I wanted my very own Honeydukes for a while, and decided to go for it this summer. While it took some time from start to finish it took less time than I first thought it would, which gives me hope that my next project won't take me forever to finish.

I'm adding a few of the wip pictures to show the progress of the room. While making the furniture took some time filling it took even longer, but I had a lot of fun.

I've got more info and pictures on how I created the room on my blog, is it advertisement if I link to a blog? I'm not sure but I'm too tired to figure it out right now. Link to the post
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / My What to Craft Decision Wheel on: August 13, 2018 02:17:18 PM
After pondering about my struggle with deciding what to craft for weeks I knew I had to finally do something about the issue. I had several ideas but this one is what stick, and I'm pretty happy that it did.

Here you can see the decision wheel made out of things I have at home, and it works really well.

I've used a cardboard cake plate, scrapbook paper, contact paper, wooden board from who knows what (I think it was from some kind of shelf, not sure as I only had a few pieces), random screws and bolts I received from my in-laws, glad I could make them fit, and the centre of a fidget spinner, and some other random tiny things.

The hardest thing (or what took the most time) was cutting the pie shapes, and waiting for the paint on the board behind to dry.

The easiest thing to do was, to be honest the whole thing was easy, it took me a lot of hours to finish because I was listening to a book and doing other things besides crafting.

When I spin it I don't always do the thing it lands on, spinning it sometimes is what I need to do in order to understand what my heart really wants to craft or do, but other times I'll obey. I haven't had it for so many days so it hasn't been used as much, but my son and his friends likes to spin it. Most of the things are related to one kind of craft or one specific thing I'm working on, but there are some that are for cleaning etc.

Here you see the wheel in action.

3  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 122 ENTRIES / Gingerbread Bakery Dollhouse (Pic heavy) on: January 08, 2018 03:05:41 AM
Most of December was stressful for me, and I hadn't planned to participate in this challenge, but ended up doing it as therapy, and it worked.

I present to you my Gingerbread Bakery Dollhouse, because I can't have a real dollhouse just yet.

How could I make a cute bakery and not add a cute scooter?

My son was the proud creator of the cake next to the cash register, it was his third attempt, the first two being way too big for this house.

In the bakery there is a round table with chairs, and a three tier cake stand with cookies, macarons and a Swedish princess cake.

By the window there are three shelves. On the top shelf there are small baguettes, croissants and some pastries with cream on top. On the second shelf there are three different kinds of doughnuts, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. On the third shelf I made napoleon cakes on a stand, a white wedding cake and croquembouche.

The second floor is dedicated to the bedroom. The bed and rug were both hand painted with food colour, and the vanity has a lot of tiny details, a vase with roses, hair brush, mirror, vintage perfume and nail polishes.

6  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Not so new craftster on: July 12, 2017 09:57:59 PM
Because I never introduced myself the first time I became a member thought I might do so this time.

I was active here a few years ago, signed up in 2009 and my guess is that I stopped coming by around 2012/13. Not only am I planning to be back for a long time, but I also changed my user name. I doubt anyone remembers me but I used to be called imera.

You can find me and my family living in Norway, where I commute 4 hours every day to work (in my last job I commuted 5 hours), so while I have less crafting time I will have more time to comment on the lovely projects posted here. I love most crafts, but my favourite medium to work with is clay and paper.

Not only do I want to be more active here, but I also want to focus on my craft blog and my etsy shops. I know I will have to find a new balance soon as I'm also planning to sign up to take internet college, ok, not certain what it's called in English but I don't go to class because all the classes are on the internet (through the school) and I can talk with the teachers there, making it possible for me to study in the evening while I work. The bad thing is that it will take a lot of time, the good thing is that with that diploma I can find jobs closer to home.

So that is short-ish about me, looking forward to being active here again Cheesy

This swap is a 4 p swap, 2 p for the box, and 2 p for your item.

For this swap you will have to decorate a box, about the same size as a VHS tape box (it cant be too small) and fill it up with pretty romantic things. It can be filled with bought items, or crafted items, but please stay true to the theme. It will be a romantic treasure box, filled with pretty things.

You will also have to craft a medium thing to go with the theme, or two small things. Maybe a hoop, a tiny doll, earrings, bookmarks... Whatever you choose try to make it your best.

10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Kokeshi doll on: June 21, 2011 12:10:12 PM
I was partnered up with Ruby Copperhead for the "one tiny stuffie r5" swap, and she wanted different things. After spending a week thinking about what to make her I decided to make something Japanese, since she loves Japan, and it brightens her mood.

After thinking some more I decided to make her a stuffie Kokeshi doll.

The body and head are felted balls that I made, drying them took ages. The hair was difficult, and the curves of the kimono, but as you can see, I managed to overcome the difficulties.

I sewed the whole thing by hand, I also didn't have any iron to straighten the folds. Then I hand sewn the plants on the kimono, sewed the face (the eyes were difficult) and added the wrap around the middle, with the lace. I made all the blue roses myself from ribbon, and stuck two pins with glass beads between the roses.

So here are the pictures, of the front and back
