I'm sorry Mistress Jennie, in my haste to sign up before two stressful days at work (and so I wouldn't change my mind about this project, again) I must have chosen the tab with the unfinished signup, I was certain I had closed that one, apparently I haven't. Well, here we go again, luckily I didn't close all the tabs.

OWL Subject & Option(if available): Muggle studies
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Cinderella's carriage
Brief Description: I'll be studying the story of Cinderella, in particular the transfiguration of the pumpkin into the carriage. This project came to me one night when I was just about to fall asleep, and ever since then I've wanted to create it. I will use my favourite medium, paper, to create the magical carriage. The carriage will also be decorated with beads and flowers or other things that will make it look pretty. I will also create some mice to pull the carriage, they will either be made out of paper or be needle felted. My plan is to finish this by the beginning of July in case I'm lucky and get the job I really want.

Oh my midkiffsjoy you're on a roll Cheesy and don't you know kids don't care if they have something that is better and bigger, they always want what others have Tongue Or maybe not, but maybe they just like yours because you're making so many cool things for it.

cheyenneatheart I love the washcloth, now, should I try to learn knitting or ask my mother-in-law to make me one or two Tongue

Can't wait to join the crafting, almost done cleaning my house, I already have some ideas for the classes.

Now that I'm done with school stress I'm ready to start crafting again, and apply to jobs, but I need something to keep me sane through all those rejection emails. Good luck to everyone Cheesy

So many great projects and stories, living in a boat, amazing, and becoming an aunt! Lots of happy news. I also enjoy looking at all the different projects, now that I'm feeling like I'm not too behind on my studies I hope to be able to return a little more to the land of crafts.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Floo bermuda triangle
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Bee mandala
Brief Description: I've wanted to make some easy art lately but I don't have time to sit and draw so I decided to make a quick-ish mandala inspired by bees. I like this so much I think I'll use it in a paper cutting project in the future.

Thank you for the lovely comments.

I will join this semester even though it's going to be a lot of stress, at least I have a plan and know what to expect over the next few months, which I didn't have during the last semester where annoying and stressful stuff bombarded me and I was left not knowing what would happen next. I did make one tiny thing and I wanted to share it, but every time I was "ready" to take a picture and share it life handed me a wheelbarrow of lemons.

That is an amazing average of around 2.6 projects a day and 14.6 projects per student! Shocked

Such an amazing count, so happy to see so many projects being posted! I've followed this topic from the sideline and have been amazed by all the lovely crafts posted.

I wished I had participated but life just wouldn't cooperate, will try to join the new semester, even though I know the whole semester timeline will be during my hectic timeline.

ShiningStar that is smart, and I do make sure I'm logged in, the problem is  that I think it's been 4+ years since I saw that video, and I watch a lot of videos on youtube. usually now whenever I find something I find interesting I add it to one of multiple hidden playlists so I can find it later without looking through my neverending history list, which contains both stuff I do like and stuff I don't like (and let's not forget all the stuff my son watches whenever he's using my computer)

Thanks to everyone for the lovely comments.

It did take a long time to put it together, and creating all those details, but it was also rewarding. Not only was it calming, but I also learned a few things that will make my next giant gingerbread house slightly easier to create.

And to answer craftylittlemonkey's question, that lattice work was inspired by a youtube video I saw years ago, this man was making a wedding cake with this kind of detail, it was amazing to watch (sadly I haven't managed to find the video as I can't remember what it was called). The trick is to add more powdered sugar to the royal icing until it is hard enough so it can form a long thread without breaking, but not so dry it won't stick to itself, then it's just a matter of slowly piping it in thin air before attaching it to the curve above.

Most of December was stressful for me, and I hadn't planned to participate in this challenge, but ended up doing it as therapy, and it worked.

I present to you my Gingerbread Bakery Dollhouse, because I can't have a real dollhouse just yet.

How could I make a cute bakery and not add a cute scooter?

My son was the proud creator of the cake next to the cash register, it was his third attempt, the first two being way too big for this house.

In the bakery there is a round table with chairs, and a three tier cake stand with cookies, macarons and a Swedish princess cake.

By the window there are three shelves. On the top shelf there are small baguettes, croissants and some pastries with cream on top. On the second shelf there are three different kinds of doughnuts, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. On the third shelf I made napoleon cakes on a stand, a white wedding cake and croquembouche.

The second floor is dedicated to the bedroom. The bed and rug were both hand painted with food colour, and the vanity has a lot of tiny details, a vase with roses, hair brush, mirror, vintage perfume and nail polishes.
