1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Key Toppers on: March 24, 2011 10:49:48 AM
Hi all  Grin  I have a question.  Im not sure if anyone has seen the key toppers that are out there.  They are covers for you keys so you know which key is which *like a house for a house key...etc*.  I saw some in a hot spot tourist gift shop and should have bought one as a guide.  I think it was either made of plastic *which would snap over a key* or polymer clay.  My question is if I was to make one out of clay, how would I make it to fit over the key?  Huh It needs to slide down over it, so when baking how do I keep the cover from collapsing on itself?  I dont want to bake it onto the key, that would be permanent.  Im pretty sure that I could poke a hole in the top so when it goes over the key the key chain can be put through both the cover and the key.  Im just confused on how to keep the cover from collapsing.  Undecided Thanks!!

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Sticker Question on: December 10, 2010 06:44:02 PM
Hiya!  I am bought some clear ornaments to put the names of all the kids *both sides* in the family for the parents for Christmas.  I got one side down with purchased stickers.  However...........the other side has 5 kids and 9 grandkids. If I was to buy all those stickers, I would have tons left over. *Sorry I digress*.  My question is:  I bought the full sheet Avery shipping label sheets and was wondering if I was to print out the names and then use glue glitter to fill the pattern in, should I seal them somehow so the glitter doesnt rub/fall off? And if so..what kind of sealant?  I was thinking of filling them in with the glue glitter, sealing them, then cutting the letters out.  Does this sound like the right course of action??  I was going to paint the names on...but that didnt turn out to well *sigh*.  Thanks for your help!!
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Natural Amethyst on: August 24, 2010 02:21:25 PM
Im not sure if this is the right forum....but here goes Smiley  We spent a long weekend with some friends in the mountains of NC several weeks ago and the wife gave me an amethyst stone she found mining.  Unfortunately (not sounding ungrateful...I love it!!!), she gave it to me on Sunday morning before we left and I didnt have the time to seek out a gem cutter.  Does anyone have any clue on where I should I start to find someone that can help me.  I dont want to leave it or mail it to just anyone.  Can it be just polished?  Its a good size piece in its raw state.  I just have no idea where to begin looking.  I live in Middle TN and have no luck even finding a gem and mineral show coming locally.  If anyone could help, I sure would appreciate it!!  Thanks!!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Soooooooooo..... on: September 25, 2009 12:59:31 PM
I sit down yesterday with my trusty wire, rocks I found on the beach and my tools thinking *Today is the day I learn to wrap some rocks and make pendants for necklaces!* only to realize I dont have a CLUE on where to start. I just sat there.....staring.  I have been looking all over for some direction but everything I have found requires like 6 pieces of wire!!!  I like the simple look, like the wrapping you see on sharks teeth.  I dont want to encase these stones with tons of wire, I just want to turn them into nice simple pendants without having to drill a hole!!! Smiley

Can anyone give me advice on how to start?  Do I need to start with 2 pieces of wire or can I use just one.....or both???  Im so confused.......

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Photos and Copyrights...... on: August 26, 2009 12:27:44 PM
I got the whole photograph, magazine, image copyright thing, but I couldnt find the answer to this:

I have an idea for Christmas ornaments involving photos.  The idea is for customers to send me photos that they would like to preserve, i.e. their kids, pets, vacations, etc.  If I use these photos, and sell the finished product BACK to them, this should be all hunky dory right???  *I just wanna make sure   Grin*
